Meet 'The Swallows' - The Swallow Yachts Association Join Ian and Claire as they share their love for sailing and their plans for the rest of the summer's sailing. In this video, they talk about their first steps into the sailing world and why, after attending the raid last year in Mylor Ian decided that the BRE is "The best day boat you can buy". You’ll get a glimpse into their experience sailing as a couple, their learning journey, and the joys of cruising in a BayRaider. Having had the pleasure of sailing with them this year, I can vouch for their warmth, enthusiasm, and insightful perspectives on Swallow Yachts and the magic of sailing. Don't miss their inspiring story and a look into the unique camaraderie of the Swallow Yachts Raid community. Our first few days living aboard our sailboat, Tell Tale, getting used to boat life, also caught a red fish.
This summer has been a long time coming. Long before Arabella was ever launched, there was a dream—to sail north, reach remote places, and go after untouched granite walls that few people have ever seen, let alone climbed. Now, after years of building, sailing, and learning, we finally have the opportunity to go for it. In this update, we’re sharing the plan for the summer: heading to Newfoundland’s remote south coast to explore and potentially develop first ascents on one of the most inaccessible and promising cliffs in the region. It’s the kind of place most climbers never get the chance to reach—and the kind of adventure Arabella was built for. There’s still a lot of work to do before we get there, but the goal is set. Now it’s time to make it happen. -------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella started as a wooden boat building project in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve began the journey as an amateur wooden boat builder crafting a 38' wooden sailboat in his backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and now sailing the boat—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that traditional wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project continues beyond the boat shop, as Steve and crew travel and learn to cruise aboard the handmade wooden boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. -------------------------- If you are interested in supporting/helping here are a few ways: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/how-to-help Acorn to Arabella's wishlist: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority TotalBoat supports A2A!

Jasper Marine Info & Contact: https://bit.ly/4aTVT1Y Become a NAUTI Member: https://bit.ly/NautiCrew Follow Us Building an Explorer Yacht @NautiGuys https://bit.ly/3yPe1Z5 This one is built for adventure! Today, we’re stepping aboard the 2026 Jasper Marine Defender 22, a serious mini-Explorer boat or a Tow tender built in British Columbia and designed for real-world capability. This is not your average Cabin Boat. The welded aluminum hull, the rugged construction, and the purposeful layout make this the kind of boat you’d pair with an expedition yacht or use as a tow tender behind a larger mothership. Some of my favorite things? The solid feel underfoot, the practical deck space, and how ready this boat looks for remote cruising. Rico absolutely loved the heavy-duty build quality — this is the kind of boat that feels like it can take a beating and keep going. And YES, you can Beach it too! If you’re into explorer yachts, expedition platforms, or support vessels for serious cruising, the Defender 22 is a very cool piece of kit. We leave Miri and sail to Pulau Tiga, better known as Survivor Island. Famous for its bubbling mud volcanoes, we cover ourselves head to toe in cool-to-the-touch, mineral-rich mud. It takes a little encouragement for the girls to get in — but once they do, it turns into an unforgettable (and very messy!) experience. After washing off, we snorkel the vibrant coral reef while park rangers keep watch overhead with a surveillance drone — monitoring the area for the island’s resident crocodile. It definitely adds an edge to the swim! We then hop across to nearby Lovely Paradise Island, where pure white sand and crystal-clear water create a true tropical postcard scene — best admired from the island’s quirky pool table overlooking the beach. Finally, we set sail toward Kota Kinabalu, and manage to hook a fish along the way, rounding out another unforgettable adventure in Malaysian Borneo. Hey there! We’re Chris and Jo, an ordinary Aussie couple living our extraordinary dream aboard our Seawind 1260 since January 2019 and now we continue from 2024 aboard our new 1370! Our adventure began with an unforgettable journey down the east coast of Australia, followed by a sail to the stunning New Caledonia. In 2020, we continued our exploration further north, and by 2021 and 2022, we circumnavigated Australia, discovering breathtaking locations along the way. Having previously owned fishing and water-skiing boats, our passion for sailing deepened after crewing in South Australia, leading us to make the leap into full-time living at sea. We hope to inspire you, just as we were inspired by other YouTube channels, to chase your dreams and explore the wonders of this beautiful world. The Hallberg-Rassy 53 is a solid, Frers-designed blue-water cruisers built by the esteemed Swedish yard between 1992 and 2006 and this hull, 67th of 88 in the popular series, was delivered in 2002. Chris Beeson was not remotely surprised to find a boat crammed with real craftsmanship and long-range, ocean-going cruising experience. But what he didn’t expect was the remarkably good condition of this 24-year-old yacht, especially below, where she wears her tens-of-thousands of passage miles very lightly.
