A bit of a cold and gray day on the ICW. With no heat in the cockpit and the generator broken, no recycled heaters, we're just kind of working our way south as best we can. An early morning up and going before sunrise ends long before sunset. We reflect on the decision of whether to get off the dock. Sometimes it is a much better idea to not leave than to take a chance.

After a tough start to the season that left Ben injured and out of commission for a couple of weeks, we’re finally back—and back to adventure. This episode picks up with a return to the cabin, where local friends Rod and Alvin take us deeper into life in this rugged part of the world. From checking rabbit traps and ice fishing to hearing firsthand stories of growing up on remote islands, it’s a glimpse into a way of life shaped by isolation, resilience, and community. Then it’s back into the mountains. Steve and Carter set out to find a hidden ice climb they’d previously spotted from the highway—but with no trail and limited time, it turns into a full-on route-finding mission from above, rappelling into the unknown and hoping they’ve landed in the right place. Between setbacks, exploration, and a few hard-earned lessons, this week is about getting back on your feet—and back out there. -------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella started as a wooden boat building project in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve began the journey as an amateur wooden boat builder crafting a 38' wooden sailboat in his backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and now sailing the boat—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that traditional wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project continues beyond the boat shop, as Steve and crew travel and learn to cruise aboard the handmade wooden boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. -------------------------- If you are interested in supporting/helping here are a few ways: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/how-to-help Acorn to Arabella's wishlist: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority TotalBoat supports A2A! 49 Garlington 2018 [PERFECTION] Asking Price: $1,999,000 Location: Hobe Sound, FL Listing Details: https://hubs.ly/Q02sDMkc0 When it comes to the best builders out there, Garlington is always at the top of the list. Since the 1980's the company has lived by the slogan "Under constant refinement". Since the earlier days of the 61's and 44's Garlington has been the manufacturer most builders try to emulate. Deciding to go with Garlington to build this 49' Express walkaround was an easy decision for this original owner. After nearly (3) years, PERFECTION was born and has been another example of the quality Garlington produces. This 49' walk-around is one of the most efficient custom boats on the water today, utilizing the most stout IPS system combined with weight-saving techniques such as a carbon fiber superstructure allowing for a staggering performance of 30+ knots at just 48 gallons an hour! Raki is an alcoholic beverage of Cretan origin. It is made by distilling of pomace that were pressed for the winemaking process. The pomace is kept for about six weeks after the grapes have been pressed, in a tightly-sealed barrel, and then the fermented mash is distilled. Typically each Cretan village has one or two residents who are licensed to distill, and Raki is produced continuously for two or three weeks in late October and early November.
