The founder was Henri Jeanneau, a hardware store owner, who began by producing power boats. Jeanneau specializes in monohulls, but it created a specialist multihull line, Lagoon catamarans. Jeanneau and Lagoon became part of Groupe Beneteau in 1995 Jeanneau is a French boatyard in Les Herbiers, which has produced yachts since 1957. Jeanneau boats are produced by Groupe Beneteau. Jeanneau produces a range of powerboats and sailboats for fishing, cruising, and water sports. Popular Jeanneau models include the Sun Odyssey 410, Sun Odyssey 440, Sun Odyssey 349, Sun Odyssey 490, and Merry Fisher 795, as well as dinghies, motorboats, sailing yachts and a multihull line, Lagoon catamarans. When researching anchorages we always take safety into account. What are the reviews saying? What are other cruisers who have been there in the past saying? Checking the Caribbean Safety and Security site for recent reports. BUT we also follow our gut. If we find an anchorage with no reviews and feel off we will leave. If we find an anchorage and it has no so favorable reviews, then we make the call depending on the situation. And to be honest, if we let all the bad reviews keep us away from exploring each new place, we would have NEVER left home. What we don’t normally get is the ONE one ONE contact with the locals and business owners that are trying their best to clear their names of the smearing that one or two people with bad intentions have brought upon them. Most of the anchorages in the West Indies rely on the cruising community to bring in income for their businesses. And when one bad apple takes it upon themselves to ruin the whole bunch, it hurts the locals' livelihood and the cruisers who are missing out on a beautiful location full of kind people, great food, amazing conversation and possibly a DONKEY. We are happy we got to meet up with our new friend Curtis that showed us around his island and introduced us to what has become one of our favorite islands in the Caribbean. Follow our friends! But a day trip is not enough..they are lured in to sailing to St Vincent for more fun and adventure cruising to the protected anchorages on the west side of the island. Anchoring in remote locations and enjoying the sparsely populated anchorages on the biggest island in ST Vincent and the Grenadines. Pirates, volcanos, beaches and waterfalls await - enough adventure for any sailor! My circumnavigation is almost over, but the fun and my sailing life is not! The sailing lifestyle can be such a pleasure, but it is fraught with dangers every day! You just never know what’s gonna happen tomorrow when you are living on a sailboat! Ganja ( Marijuana) is grown extensively on this island and are all part of in island tour! The Volcano last year in St Vincent devastated sailors and the people of St Vincent tremendously, as shown in the brief footage of the volcanos aftermath.
