May 25th Rallying Raiatea - Huahine A sailing celebration, during 4 days, at the îles Sous-le-Vent in French Polynesia : it was the original idea of the Tahiti Pearl Regatta, created in 2004 by a bunch of friends gathered in the Raiatea Regatta association by the dearly departed Henri Dejust. A great success! Over the years, the "TPR" as called by the sailors, has become the most beautiful regatta in the Pacific islands, and has made it to an international nautical event. Every year, international teams join in search of an extraordinary experience.

There are lots of fun things to do while Exploring Cat Island. Starting with catching four Mahi-mahi on the way over. Have you ever summited the highest peak in a country before? We now have. The Hermitage monastery was built in 1934 on the highest peak on Cat Island. In fact, it’s the highest peak in the entire Bahamas topping out at a whopping 206 feet high. We find a beautiful beach at Fountain Bay resort, do some yoga, pet some chickens, and search for bats. We get massages on a beach and a duber (that’s a dinghy Uber) over to dinner at Fernandez Bay Beach Resort. The goal was to get some experience with offshore sailing aboard this Westsail 32. I joined the owners and we embarked on a 600 mile passage around the Little Bahama Bank. With head seas and head winds the first few days, I filmed very little but after the passing of the low pressure system, the sailing became very good and the camera came out.
