Since visiting and then purchasing MacMac in late October, the intervening weeks between then and Christmas have been packed with preparation! Four truck loads packed into 4 crates - all my worldly yachting possessions!. Some amazing cooking instruction from Gary Gamble - "Maximise Taste with Minimum Effort" was the order of the day. So hopefully we won't starve on route to Barcelona :-) Thanks to everyone for all your help in getting us this far!!

In this video, How to DIY Serious Dinghy Repairs while Cruising Full Time, we get down to business and do a serious re-glueing of our dinghy transom by using the notorious Final Fix, and re-inforce it with hypalon patches and PVC tubing. We also replace a spun prop on our Tohatsu and share maintenance tips. #dinghyrepair #sailboatdiy #finalfix #sailingchannel If you like our videos and want to see more/better videos, more often you can become a patreon supporter: https://www.patreon.com/sailingbalachandra If you haven't yet SUBSCRIBED and wan to see more please click the SUBSCRIBE button above, and be sure to give this video a like! In August of 2017 we sold everything and moved aboard Balachandra, a 1986 C&C44 sailboat, then sailed it over 300 nautical miles to Halifax Nova Scotia to spend a cold Canadian winter in the frozen waters of the North Atlantic. Sailing Balachandra is our YouTube sailing vlog inspired by other great channels such as Delos and La Vagabonde, which documents the sailing adventures of myself and my partner Nawal as we navigate the globe. We also dive into lots of DIY boat projects both above and below decks, and share with you all of the pros and cons of living aboard full time. Sailing Balachandra is published weekly so please subscribe so you don't miss out on future videos! In this video we sail (motor) from Santa Barbara to Forney Cove on Santa Cruz Island. That night we are hit by a 40-50 knot gale which threatens to push little Mig down onto the rocks. One of the very worst experiences I have ever had while anchored out. #anchoredout #circumnavigation #anchoring #stormatanchor #Nor'sea27 #channelislands

We make landfall in the Bahamas at the super friendly island of Inagua. After checking in with customs and immigration we decide to stretch our legs and explore the old lighthouse that James thinks the English built! We then head off to explore Hogsty Reef which is a unique horseshoe coral atoll located about 40 miles from the nearest land. We drop the hook behind a sliver of land and plan to stay the night.

It's time to return to Africa and our winter home in Monastir, Tunisia. Our journey from Malta begins with a stunning sunrise and calm seas, making for a peaceful crossing—until the final five hours, when we find ourselves dodging storms. We arrive in Monastir in the rain, wet but safe, and get to work packing down Helios for the winter. With the boat secured, we settle back into marina life, ready for the season ahead.
