I have the utmost respect for this leg of the journey and carefully select a perfect weather window. I successfully round the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Agulhas, and navigate through the infamous Agulhas Current. Afterward, I make good progress in the high 30s latitudes until several days of strong winds force me north again. It's a sometimes quite challenging trip. I arrive safely on Réunion Island. After leaving The Percy Islands we sailed first to Scawfell Island then on to Brampton Island, which is now an abandoned resort. We encounter a Humpback Whale and calf on the way. We show a couple of boat jobs we did previously, namely fixing the Paguro Generator and remounting the deck wash pump.

In this week's WoW we have an exclusive as we had a camera on-board the Oatley families Super-Maxi Wild Oats XI as they tested sails and as the emphasis of sailing is in the Southern Hemisphere the major events were Sail Sydney on the Harbour, the build up to the Rolex Sydney Harbour yacht Race where we talk to contender Tony Kirby who has his modified "Patrice" ready, Rick Moore is Cruising in the Caribbean with his crew of "lovlies" the Vendee Globe boats are hitting UFO's at speed and destroying their boats.

Together with Jani we continued our voyage from Korpoström to Hålskär Seascout harbor. We had windy and sunny sailing weather. Fortunately we had very nice facilities waiting in Håslskär, especially the Sauna.
