I set out to capture something special — the summer solstice sunrise at Old Harry Rocks in Dorset. Staying overnight in the National Trust car park, I didn’t expect to share it with paddleboarders arriving at 3am, ready to see the sunrise from the calm sea. By the time I walked the mile to the cliffs, more paddleboarders and a few fellow photographers had gathered — all of us waiting for the first light. It continues to be a challenging Summer trying to get out on the water. We are still dealing with some water level issues but that has been a significant issue. The major issue continues to be the weeds. I suspect that the lower water levels this year have been a major contributor to the excessive weed growth. It has been a struggle, but we have been managing to get out. We still continue to drag a massive amount of weeds out on our keel, sail drive and rudder.
