We vertrekken uit La Rochelle voor de overtocht van zo'n 360 mijl over de Golf van Biskaje, een berucht stuk water dat tussen Frankrijk en Spanje ligt. In deze video zie je hoe het er tijdens een overtocht aan toe gaat. De overtocht gaat heel voorspoedig, maar net vlak voor we A Coruña binnenlopen komt er nog een flinke bui met onweer en wind over. Jarenlang heb ik ervan gedroomd om zeilend te gaan waar de wind me brengt. In 2020 was het dan eindelijk zover en heb ik samen met Felia een prachtige reis gemaakt naar Scandinavië en de Baltische staten. Onze Eva, een Atlantic 43 uit 2007, is een aluminium zeiljacht met hefkiel en gebouwd en uitgerust voor reizen naar plaatsen die net achter de horizon liggen. Vanaf 2021 vaar ik met wisselende bemanning zuidwaarts. Ik vind het leuk om onze avonturen met jullie te delen.
