What you need to know about changing windshield wipers and avoiding costly damage. It is very common for windshields to be damaged during wiper changes, according to a man we interviewed. He told us he receives around two calls a week from dealerships breaking windshields when they replace wipers. Moreover, we were told that they rarely let the customer know if their window has been dinged. Therefore, on the following hot day, you will return to find a crack in your windshield. Two Wiper Blades Set - 24"/22" Volvo V50 V70 XC70 XC90 S80 S60 https://amzn.to/3bPrAv7 How To Remove The Old Wiper Blade Before installing new windshield wipers, you must remove the old, worn out ones. Because the wiper arm is a spring-loaded metal projectile and your windshield is glass, it is essential to remove them with care. You risk scratching or cracking the windshield if you make a clumsy move. If you are really worried, you may want to put a towel over the window.  Ensure the new wiper blade is ready to go on before removing the old one. The old wiper should be removed by lifting it away from the windshield. I never let go of the wiper blade arm, even though the arm should remain in the up position. While holding the wiper arm, depress the tap on the underside of the wiper blade that secures it to the arm. When the tab is depressed, the wiper blade should slide off. How To Install New Wiper Blades Re-installing the wiper blade should be done in reverse of what you did to remove it. Please refer to the video or picture if you are unsure. As you can see, the plastic clip that attaches the wiper to the metal arm has a flat end and a curved end. Turn the plastic clip so that the curve points toward the wiper blade. With the curve facing the wiper blade, slide the metal wiper rod hook through the wiper blade sides. Push the rod far enough so that the rod hook can pass over the plastic clip. There should be a click when the hook is slid over the clip. Try sliding the blade back off to ensure a secure grip. After the Second World War, the USA collected a ‘mock’ naval fleet for the purpose of testing the impact of different atomic bombs on a large fleet. These nuclear bomb tests were performed in several remote locations in the South Pacific Ocean, known as the Pacific Proving Grounds. Bikini Atoll was appointed one of the designated testing areas within the Marshall Islands. Between 1946 and 1958, not less than 23 atomic bombs were tested at Bikini Atoll, which resulted in a unique selection of shipwrecks from the US, Germany and Japan consisting of war battleships, cruisers, and an aircraft carrier. More than 60 years later, the shipwrecks remain equally as impressive while they have become home to many kinds of corals and fish species. Marine Refugia Story The member countries of the United Nations have agreed to protect 30% of the oceans by 2030. So far, we have 3.7%. So we have a far way to go. Fishers in local communities often reject the idea of protected areas. As we get closer to the shore, we have competing interests between conservation groups and people who make a living from fishing. Our goal is to show how a protected area helps the local people. We coordinate with NGOs to share the results of our research with fishers to help them design their own marine protected areas. With Dr. Alfredo Giron, the video was taken in the Sea of Cortez/Gulf of California. Dr. Alfredo Giron is a scientist who leads trips aboard Quino el Guardian Liveaboard. Quino is part of the Mexico Liveaboards fleet taking divers to the magical destinations of the Sea of Cortez and Socorro.

Postojna Cave system is a series of caverns, halls and passages over 24km long and two million years old, was hollowed out by the Pivka River, which enters a subterranean tunnel near the cave’s entrance. Predjama Castle is perched halfway up a 123-metre cliff, where it has stood for more than 800 years. It is in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest cave castle in the world. The castle is also connected to the legend of the "robber baron" Erasmus of Predjama. The Cave below Predjama Castle is the second-longest show cave in Slovenia. Predjama Castle is first attested in 1274, the year it was built, in the Gothic style, by the Patriarch of Aquileia. It was later rebuilt by its new owners, the Luegg family, whose most notorious member was Erasmus of Predjama. Predjama Castle is the only completely preserved cave castle in Europe. Its unique situation halfway up a cliff offers a unique insight into the construction techniques and inventiveness of its medieval builders, who sought a safe refuge right by the entrance to the cave. The castle has featured in numerous documentaries and feature films. Two of the most prominent are an episode of the reality series Ghost Hunters International and the film Armour of God starring action hero Jackie Chan. Inside the castle, visitors can see numerous replica weapons – lances, halberds, swords, battle hammers, longbows, crossbows and armour – in a faithfully reconstructed room in the main castle attic.
