Ine is a pretty yet small fishermen town located in a lovely bay with a unique architecture of Funaya houses. Funaya houses are row houses built on the shoreside that have a garage of sorts under the house to store a fishing boat. Built of wood and using traditional methods funaya houses conserve their centurIes old flavor and have become a place to visit for sailors heading North as well as for tourists from the mainland. Kanazawa is very different both today and its origins. It was a major town in the Shogun Era being the seat of the powerful Maeda clan. With a lot of its historical buildings preserved to date it has developed both as a sophisticated city for Japanese people to live and an attractive destination for international tourists. Watch this video and you will see the fantastic experience we had stopping in these two marvelous towns.

The new plants I inherited from another boat are adjusting well onboard Tootsie Marie. I’m overdue to up pot one of the tomato plants, I hope it’s not too late! The geraniums are a total fail, sad to say, but they don’t seem to thrive in this climate so there’s no point in continuing to try to grow them on the boat. It’s all apart of the fun and the experiment, even though I’m a little bit disappointed. #boatgarden #greenthumb #offgrid

Comece a estudar, assistir vídeos e ler livros.

The annual Ocean Club Owners’ Soirée once again proved why it is one of the most anticipated gatherings on the social calendar for yacht owners and industry leaders. More than 204 guests, clients, and event partners gathered for a night of refined luxury at the perfectly positioned Sala Dining, Jones Bay Wharf, where Sydney’s glittering skyline and the iconic arch of the Harbour Bridge set a breathtaking stage. This innovative vessel, known as SpaceCat, represents the cutting edge of technology and design in the yachting industry. Reduce features an ultra-light aluminum hull and a hybrid propulsion system, ensuring high performance with minimal environmental impact. Its advanced hull design reduces drag, enhancing fuel efficiency and extending cruising range. During our conversation, we explored the rapid integration of artificial intelligence (Al) in the yachting industry. Al is already being used to optimize fuel consumption, navigation, maintenance, and onboard safety. These advancements not only improve operational efficiency but also elevate the overall experience of life at sea. This is particularly exciting for Spinnaker Bureau, as we have recently partnered with Yacht.Al, a project dedicated to integrating Al into the yachting industry. We look forward to bringing our clients innovative solutions that merge luxury with cutting-edge technology. Stay tuned there's much more to come at d the intersection of yachting and advanced technology!
On fall days, the wind blows out of the east in San Francisco, bringing with it smells of Fall foliage, fireplaces, and a dry chill in the air. It's on days like that we enjoy sailing in what feels like a whole new place. We get to go up-wind towards Berkeley, and fly spinnakers towards the gate. Not only that, but with the king tides, we see currents rushing huge logs downstream and out the gate, to the point where we're on constant lookout for pilings, sheets of plywood (yes, we've seen that), and rebar (a running joke at my expense, but I swear it looked like rebar at first glance!).
Ep 112 - Today we finally got around to opening and checking out our new Spinnaker sail. We couldn't be any happier with how it turned out. Thank you Precision Sails! We chose our colors and went with the Blue and Gold... blue for sky and waters we will travel and Orange/Gold for the sunrise and sunets that we see every day on our boat. We are truly blessed with this life and grateful for how far we have come so far. We will continue to get her cruise ready as we now aim toward a departure date that is still very fluid but at least we have a date as to when we are leaving.
