If our chefs know anything, it’s how to cook well – and that much was proven at the Global Culinary Excellence Academy Finale in November 2018. Even with specific challenge requirements, our students not only managed to excel, but surprise the jury too. Armed with the same, standard set of ingredients, the candidates were tasked with creating dishes for one of four demographics: The Silver Society (people above 60-years-old), millennials, leisure travellers and frequent flyers. On top of that, each group had to ensure their menu items were on theme; some had to deconstruct their dishes, reimagining a traditional meal that most would be familiar with, while others had to serve a menu that consisted of street food, fancy and global meals. So what does it take to stand out? According to Chef Bill Gillen, Director Culinary Excellence NAM, it’s all about adding an unexpected twist that elevates the presentation of the dish. Which was exactly what Clinton Johnston (Dallas, USA), Joey Markey (Dallas, USA) and Ivari Kuimet (Tallinn, Estonia) did. With a deconstructed arancini, a deconstructed beef dish and a reinvented Harvard Beet Cake that, as Chef Bill says, “could easily be served in first class”, these three students were awarded the top three candidates. Living aboard and travelling in a 34ft yacht and in a motorhome with four kids. We head from Matapouri out to the Poor Knights for a snorkel and then work our way up the coast to Cape Brett. We are a family of six who are taking some time out of normal life to travel. We’ve pulled the kids from school and are home schooling while on the road and the water. We spend time aboard our 34ft sailing boat in NZ and have bought a camper in Europe so as to tour the other side of the world. We’re keeping our memories on video here and the kids write narration and play guitars so we have music to use in the videos.

Amel have an office here so spear parts is very easy to get.Thea and i take the bikes and we went to St Anne, very choosy little village on the south part of Martinique. And i must say, the Bolognese i cook went very tasteful. It seemed that every Saturday the have local sailing competitions very nice to look at from the bar with a glas of good white wine.;)

In this episode I paid a visit to Cheticamp - French fishing community of cape Breton, strolled down the waterfront broad walk and had lunch at the "Le Gabriel" French restaurant... After that I headed to National park and hiked famous Skyline trail, enjoyed the scenery and  magnificent sunset over the ocean... ===================== ABOUT ME Back in 2019 I decided I did not want to be a 9 to 5  type guy anymore.  I got fed up with this rat race like routine city life and I got hooked on the idea of sailing and living on a boat full time. But with 0 (zero) expirience that would be difficult to achieve... I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of videos about boats and sailing on youtube and got myself registered with dozen boat related forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. The trip was cancelled two months later for legitimate reasons.  Since I made my way to Nova Scotia I decided to discover this beatiful province before going back to Montreal I have not given up on my dream of sailing. Because of this Corona virus situation in the world It is just put on hold... I will chase my dream sooner or later regardless... ==================================== Ничего вам не продаю. Salut les copains du bateau!! Un zoom sur les fameuses « jumelles »: C’est une pièce très importante dans le gréement du bateau car c’est en réalité le support de mât. Nous avons choisi de faire le grand mat non traversant (C’est-à-dire qu’il ne traverse pas l’intérieur de la cabine avant pour un gain de place) il est donc seulement « posé » sur le pont. ⛵️ Pour le maintenir parfaitement perpendiculaire au pont et, qu’il soit très résistant en cas de gros Vent, ce support prend toute son importance dans le maintien du mât. 🌬🍃 On est donc parti de plusieures plaques en acier de 10 mm d’épaisseur que l’on a découpées et soudées entre elles. Le but étant que la forme épouse parfaitement le pied de mât au mm prêt. La pièce finale pèse dans les 50 kg, Elle sera ensuite sablée et probablement galvanisée, puis fixée au pont!! La pose du mât est prévue pour très bientôt.!💪🏻👍

Originally titled Walking with Legends, but changed due to sounding too big headed, it is now titled Short Walks in Cornwall - with each walk introducing a traditional Cornish story. This is my collection of eight short walks in West Cornwall which are all inspired and based around a local Cornish Legend.
