Sailing Free Spirit. Well today we are taking the kids out for their 1st day sailboat ride. One loved it and the other 2 not so much but hey it was a great day trip to get them in the life and journey with us. Some fun interaction with the kids around the 5 min mark… And then they all have to take turns going up and onto the bow sprit. We figured out during this sail that we didn’t place the lines back correctly after Ian and because we didn’t go back out for a sail since the hurricane, we didn’t know that we had the lines backwards… Boat life!! Watch the following craziness that ensues around the 12 min mark. While it sounds like Andy is upset, it’s because we can’t hear him at the front of the boat and then all hands chip in to re-rig the lines for the sail. Holly met her husband at the first Snipe regatta she ever sailed. It was the North American's in 1994. Sixteen years latter, she's got two young children and expects to be sailing Snipes with them for the next 20 years. What's kept Holly so active in the Class? It's the people. She's made friends from coast to coast as she and her husband have sailed in big and small regattas around the country. That makes it no surprise that she encourages collegiate sailors to come out and get hooked.

Together with Sander we fly the Pancake to a meeting in Berlin. During take off on Berlin Schonefeld the right tyre bursts just before rotate. Luckily Sander decides to rotate so we don't block a whole international airport. Sander makes a nice landing on 2 wheels before we end up in the middle of the runway at Lelystad. New experience, new tyre, no further damage...
