After our first night at anchor with Sappho, we continued our trip of firsts by going through Active Pass on our way to Campbell Bay Music Festival, an event we had heard about earlier in the summer, and managed to score tickets to last minute. It was our first time bringing our floating home to an event, and the fact we could beach our dinghy and just walk up to the festival was a pretty cool experience. With earthy, alternative vibes, the festival had a great community spirit, fun music and amazing food. Highly recommend if you are in the area at the right time of the summer. Our first stop will be north of Sulawesi where we'll be based in the award-winning Siladen Resort. We'll explore the best snorkeling sites in one of Indonesia's oldest marine protected areas, Bunaken National Park. From the comfort of a lovely island resort, we’ll be able to explore all the area’s reefs with ease. Bunaken is famous for stunning shallow corals, a bounty of reef fish, but it’s most known for its turtle population. We will make our second stop at the newly renovated Coral Eye Resort on Bangka Island. Here in Bangka, we’ll blown away by the sheer beauty and density of the marine life and reefscapes. If we’re lucky, we may see the resident dugong, known to cruise the shallow waters surrounding the resort. Although they're rarely seen in most other parts of the Indo-Pacific, they're regularly spotted around this magical little island. Bunaken National Park and Bangka Island are geographically close, the reefs, on the other hand, couldn't look more different. We'll then snorkel Raja Ampat, from the wonderful Papua Explorers Resort, located in the heart of this famous archipelago. It's the perfect place from which to snorkel Raja Ampat. Just a few minutes from the resort, there is a huge variety of snorkeling sites that play host to some of the most diverse marine habitats found anywhere on the planet. Expect truly pristine coral gardens packed with hard and soft corals that carpet the island slopes all the way up to the surface. Masses of fish life explode from the reefs, with good chances of swimming next to bigger fish such as manta rays, reef sharks, and schools of barracuda and jacks.

Durante este día, he visto ilusión, nervios, sonrisas… y sobre todo, he visto cómo el mar se convertía en algo mucho más grande: una experiencia de libertad, superación y disfrute compartido.
