Dive into the anchovy mayhem that has been the Monterey Bay the last many months! A bajillion million sea lions, pelicans, gulls, seals (and off shore, the hordes of humpback whales) have all come in to feast on the infinite schools. In their wake, the anchovies have left a lot of poop that seems to be creating an anoxic zone, resulting in quite a few stressed out, passed out fishes—including a rare prickleback species that became a first on iNaturalist! The Gozzo 35 is, in our opinion, one of the nicest motor yachts of this size and type. TAMINA is an extremely stylish combination of beautiful looks and the promise of great seakeeping and a ‘walk-round’ deck design. Als riskant, wie häufig gewarnt wird, würden wir sie nicht bezeichnen. Man trifft dann doch jeden Tag auf fünf bis zehn Personen. Es war im September nicht besonders warm. Dadurch ging zwar ein Wüsten-Feeling verloren, hat aber die Dünenkletterei für Fotos erleichtert. Im Sommer wird die Wüste gesperrt, die Temperaturen steigen dann auf 50 Grad. Die Simpson ist betörend schön und jede Düne war die Strapazen Wert. www.atanga.de

On pensait appliquer un petit traitement. On a découvert une poutre perforée par la corrosion sur notre Lagoon 42. Dans cet épisode, on vous montre l’ampleur du problème sur cette zone structurelle majeure du bateau, les constats faits sur place, et les échanges pour l'instant stériles que nous avons eus avec Lagoon. Pendant ce temps, plusieurs propriétaires nous ont déjà contactés pour nous dire qu’ils sont confrontés à la même situation. Et ce n’est pas tout. En voulant simplement remplacer les joints de nos panneaux de pont Lewmar Low Profile, on découvre un deuxième problème de corrosion galvanique : vis cassées, démontage impossible, pièces abîmées… au point de devoir remplacer plusieurs panneaux complets. Dans cette vidéo, on vous montre : ⚠️ la découverte de la corrosion sur la poutre ⚠️ pourquoi cette situation inquiète autant ⚠️ les retours déjà reçus d’autres propriétaires ⚠️ le problème caché sur les panneaux Lewmar ⚠️ la préparation des panneaux neufs avant remontage Pour éviter de reproduire les erreurs du fabriquant, on démonte aussi un panneau neuf pour accéder à l’entretoise interne reliant les deux demi-cadres, puis on applique un traitement préventif au Tef-Gel avant remontage et réinstallation. Cet épisode est important. Parce qu’il ne parle pas seulement de notre bateau. Il pose aussi la question de problèmes potentiellement bien plus répandus qu’on ne l’imagine et qui touche à la structure donc à la sécurité. Skipper sails around the world from west to east via the three major capes of Good Hope, Leeuwin and the Horn. There is a long slide down the Atlantic, the perilous voyage across the Southern Ocean with firstly the Indian Ocean and its crossed seas, then the Pacific Ocean, the world’s biggest ocean. Finally, there is the climb back up the Atlantic to head back to Les Sables d’Olonne, which marks the start and finish of the Everest of the seas. Despite performing dances for the wind gods, the wind failed to materialise for a second consecutive day at the RC44 Calero Marinas Cup in the normally windy Canary Islands. With no racing on the final day, John Bassadone’s Peninsula Petroleum claimed this, the last event of the season. In turn this left Igor Lah’s Team CEEREF to win her second consecutive RC44 Championship. Bassadone congratulated his crew, including his long term Italian tactician Vasco Vascotto, and also local sailor Alfredo Morales who stood in for him on Thursday’s opening day and for race one of day two. On that second day they had won both races, results which ultimately secured victory for the Gibraltar-based team at the RC44 Calero Marinas Cup. The RC44 Calero Marinas Cup is the final event of the 2017 RC44 Championship Tour, which pits the world's top businessmen and the best sailors in the industry compete in high-performance one-design 44-foot carbon racing yachts.
