Leaving Crab Bay we sail into Port Stanley and anchor in the shallow sandy patches at Suaro Island. With a strong wind change we are swung back towards the coral reef with only a few metres clear. Diving the anchor in the morning we ensure our chain is clear before checking on other anchors to discover why I will not recommend this anchorage as the coral extends very deep away from the island. During the dive I come across a huge mesmerising school of Long Jaw Mackerel . With our anchor free we head to Walla Island. Informo, também, que comprei o Veleiro sem saber pilotar. Mas durante dois anos estudei para passar nas três provas da Marinha do Brasil: Arrais, Mestre Amador e Capitão Amador. Quando comprei o Veleiro já era Capitão Amador. Quem me motivou a tornar-se marinheiro foi meu filho mais velho. Ele tem um veleiro 29 pés no lago de Montreal e certa vez me disse: "Veio Doido por que você não compra um veleiro e venha até o Canadá"? Achei que era brincadeira. Me cadastrei no site do namoro e ficava bisbilhotando o perfil de toda mulher do facebook. Se fosse solteira e não tivesse filho eu mandava um convite que já estava previamente redigido. Forma mais de 50 vítimas. Umas duas responderam com gozação pensando que eu era golpista. Entretanto, uma aqui da minha cidade, não acreditou inicialmente, mas me deu moral. In this new series of The Rogue Rigger I take you along on our campaign to go to the 5o5 World Championships in Hayling Island, England. The worlds start in July of 2026 so we have just a year and a half to go. Follow Mike and I on our journey to get to the world championships, from boat upgrades, practice days, regattas, debriefs and some shenanigans along the way. In this episode I finish building a brand new mast for our boat. This mast is a Selden Alto section built to the Rogue Rigging Spec. This spec was put together by myself, Howard Hamlin (505 Sailing Legend) and Mike Martin (Also a 505 Sailing Legend). As this mast is identical to our other mast we are trying a few new things. Couple of the big changes are getting rid of the 2:1 main halyard and going with a halyard lock. As well we are using a different spin halyard cleat setup. ***Just so you know! I build, rig and sell masts for dinghies and sailboats up to 40'. So hit me up if you need a new mast or rigging for your boat.

Sur les 8 derniers mois, on en est à notre 3e caméra d’action cassée (et la 5e depuis le début de la chaîne 😩). La dernière, une DJI à 650 $, a duré littéralement une semaine avant de rendre l’âme. Après 3 ans à créer des vidéos chaque semaine, avec du cœur et des efforts, on peine encore à atteindre 1200 vues. Et là, je me demande franchement… est-ce que ça en vaut la peine ? Ce n’est pas une vidéo pour me plaindre, mais un moment de transparence. Parce que derrière chaque belle image, il y a aussi des galères, des doutes et beaucoup de passion. ❤️

Chuck, Pork and I went fishing on the Susquehanna River 9/3/2011 in York county Pa. We set off to go down by dam and fish a few hours trying to catch a few Flat Head catfish. We got a few miles out and the boat broke down on us. We had to make a decision, on if to fish or flag down one of the few boats out on the water. It rained pretty hard earlier in the day so there were only a few boats out on the water with us. We had live blue gill, live crawfish, and 3 containers of night crawlers...we were not leaving without no fish!! The boat floats, we got smoke, and chips. I did not like the spot were at and I did not think we would find any Flat Heads there. Our 2 fish hooked turned out to be a Flat Head. It looked to be about 10 pds, it got away from Pork, so we will never know. I know this, the 2 flat heads hooked came off worms, not blue gill. I do like using blue gills, because though you may not catch a bunch....whatever hits that pole is 5 pds or better. I have caught allot of Blue Cat's with blue gill. Well on this day, we had a little tournament, whoever catchs 10 fish first, doesn't have to row this 2 foot boat back to shore, which is 1 1/2 to 2 miles against the rivers current. Négocier chaque vague, changer une voile toutes les heures, soigner ses mains abîmées, grimper 5 fois en tête de mât, serrer les dents à chaque embardée, patienter dans la pétole ou dans l'attente d'une décision du jury... Chaque jour est un défi et une occasion de remporter des petites victoires. Celles qui donnent la force et la confiance pour continuer. Le Cléac'h et Gabart à distance Unis comme deux frères depuis le passage au nord des Kerguelen, le 10 décembre dernier, François Gabart (MACIF) et Armel Le Cléac'h (Banque Populaire) ont pris de la distance. Le skipper de Banque Populaire est désormais décalé de 115 milles dans l'ouest de son adversaire. Est-ce le présage d'une stratégie divergente entre les deux hommes ? Pour l'heure, ce placement est d'abord le fruit des actions de la veille : hier, Armel a été le premier à toucher le vent de sud-ouest lui permettant de faire route plus rapidement vers le nord. Aujourd'hui, dans le nord-est des Malouines, les deux hommes suivent à peu près le même cap, en pleine dépression. Une bien costaud : 40 nœuds de sud-ouest, une mer très mauvaise. Pour un peu, ils en regretteraient presque le Grand Sud. Pendant toute cette journée de vendredi, ils navigueront au portant, à négocier chaque vague, avant que le vent ne refuse et ne leur revienne pile dans le nez. A l'horizon de ce week-end, ils seront confrontés à une vaste zone anticyclonique, tandis qu'une autre dépression se forme sur l'Uruguay. Bref, la route vers l'Equateur n'est pas une promenade de santé même si François, joint à la mi-journée, semblait avoir une idée relativement claire de la stratégie à suivre... un grand contour vers l'est ? Le grand bonheur des petites victoires 350 milles derrière Gabart et Le Cléac'h, Jean-Pierre Dick (Virbac Paprec 3) bénéficiera plus longtemps de vents favorables qui lui permettront temporairement de combler son retard. Mais la plus grande satisfaction de Jipé, aujourd'hui, n'a rien à voir avec son grappillage de milles. Tel est le quotidien des marins : remporter, chaque jour, une de ces petites victoires qui permettent de poursuivre la longue route. Aujourd'hui en ce 55e jour de course, tous les solitaires ont leurs défis à relever. Même combat pour le groupe de 5 (Gamesa, Mirabaud, Acciona 100% EcoPowered, Cheminées Poujoulat et Akena Vérandas) en route vers la dernière porte Pacifique, dans un vent de sud-ouest de 30 nœuds et une mer croisée. Arnaud Boissières est en train de souffrir le martyr : à force de manœuvrer dans le froid et l'humidité ses mains sont remplies d'ampoules purulentes... Conditions très difficiles également pour Initiatives-cœur qui se fait copieusement secouer sur un bord très serré en direction de la porte Ouest Pacifique. « Le deuxième cycle de la machine à laver est en route » écrivait Tanguy. Bertrand de Broc (VNAM avec EDM Projets), lui, aura besoin de patience pour traverser l'anticyclone qui lui barre le passage sur cette même porte. Aujourd'hui, il n'a pas dépassé les 9 nœuds de moyenne. « Je continuerais à me battre de toutes mes forces » Bernard Stamm, sur le point de doubler Javier Sanso, est toujours dans l'expectative. Hier matin, le Jury a reçu sa demande de réouverture de dossier. Stamm souhaite y adjoindre le témoignage du capitaine du bateau scientifique russe sur lequel il s'était amarré. Le Jury a décidé d'attendre ce document avant d'examiner le cas et de prendre sa décision. Aujourd'hui, le marin suisse écrivait dans un message très émouvant : « J'ignore quelle réponse sera apportée à ma demande de réouverture, mais quelle qu'elle soit, je continuerai à me battre de toutes mes forces pour ces valeurs qui sont les miennes. Je vous souhaite à tous de poursuivre cette belle bagarre que nous livrons depuis le départ des Sables d'Olonne. Ce Vendée Globe fait partie de ma vie depuis près de 15 ans. Jamais encore je n'ai eu le privilège de le terminer. Ce ne sera peut-être pas pour cette fois, mais je ferai tout pour ramener mon bateau à bon port, touché mais fier d'être allé au bout de mon aventure. Personne ne me l'enlèvera ».

Eight days of diving and we were NOT ready to come home! Julie Kelly and her entire team at Taveuni Ocean Sports are an incredible group of people and we were blown away on every dive. Highlights were absolutely the soft and hard corals, magnificent blue ribbon eel, giant clams, and napolean wrasses! Also encountered amazing anemone fish, butterfly fish, angel fish, blennies, dart fish, trigger fish, nudibranchs, groupers, and sharks. Epic wall dives included both the Great White Wall and the Purple Wall. Filmed with GoPro Hero3 in medium to strong current.
