In this episode we finally arrive at beautiful Lady Musgrave. Absolute paradise. Lady Musgrave Island is a 14 hectares (35 acres) coral cay on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, with a 1,192 hectares (2,950 acres) surrounding reef. We meet up with our friends, go snorkelling and Shane catches fish. It was so wonderful to be surrounded by so much beauty. No Rudders - No Worries – Repairing BareBare (Ep. 2) 🚤⛵ No rudders, no engine – just wind, oars, and a bit of luck! In this episode, we embark on a challenging yet breathtaking journey through one of the world’s most stunning lagoons. With no outboard engine (stolen!) and no rudders (stored below deck), we have to rely on sails and small steering oars to navigate the eight nautical miles to Fare. The first stretch goes smoothly—until we need to turn... Just when things seem impossible, unexpected help arrives in the form of Manea and Nahima, sailing an outrigger canoe. With their assistance, we manage to set the course and continue through crystal-clear turquoise waters, spotting stingrays and eagle rays along the way. Join us as we row, sail, and drift through this paradise, proving that sometimes, adventure is best when things don’t go as planned! 🌊✨ 🌺 Our Journey BareBare is a Wharram Tiki 38, a Polynesian-inspired double canoe that we built ourselves and shipped across the ocean. 🙏 Thank You for Your Support! This week we christened our highly anticipated and newest member of the steamboat fleet, the American Countess. The ceremony was successfully conducted in New Orleans on Sunday, March 21, 2021. This marks not just an historic and proud moment for our celebrated cruise line, but also the continued restart of American river cruising itself.
Newbie wannabe pirates invest in a few boats, we have a Mirror Dinghy, Bruce Roberts 34, Top Hat 25 Mk1, Timber Hull 23 Alan Rice, and a 14 foot Catamaran which we are repairing, sailing around going on adventures. We are based in Adelaide, South Australia and are new to sailing so we are learning as we go, what an amazing ride stay tuned as we get up to mischief, have a laugh and go on some crazy adventures. We also do some camping and water skiing on the Murray River and kayaking through the Port Adelaide mangroves. Follow us on Facebook @ sinkorswim
I'm sharing my production methods, setbacks, and progress, and basically all you want to know about my Hardtop project for my Bavaria 55 Cruiser. This is not a how-to guide for building a HARD DODGER or HARDTOP. It is a journey showing how I do it in my way. Without claiming this is the way to do it. In this episode I even share what I would done different if I started all over again. It is still monsoon season, and the weather is still pretty unstable. A cyclone forming pretty close makes things even worse with strong winds. Thank you so much for tagging along and for the patrons' support in making this video possible. Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Sailingwiththomas You can even tip me https://sailingwiththomascom.wpcomstaging.com/how-to-support-and-share-your-love/ Please also check out my brand new channel @PracticalThomas where the full version with more details is shared every time I have some practical topics in my videos https://youtu.be/DoamO6EUeAI THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WATCHING AND SUBSCRIBING! You can also follow sailing with Thomas on other platforms for almost daily updated pics and videos, and even find yourself a new T-Shirt: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sailingwiththomas Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sailingwiththomas Shop: https://sailingwiththomascom.wpcomstaging.com/shop/ ABOUT THIS CHANNEL: I'm a sailor with a YouTube channel and not a YouTuber. Sailing around the world in a Bavaria 55 Cruiser mostly solo, making videos whenever we have time for it. Comfortable at sea with 4 decades of sailing experience and hundreds of thousands of miles behind me. Even though this is season 7 on YouTube I did not make that many videos in the beginning, and obviously not from my entire sailing life. Before full-time sailing 6 years ago, I sailed several seasons in the Mediterranean, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing and racing ever since. I also have more than 10 years of experience as a captain in search and rescue at sea in Norway.

With all the preparations having to be done to our beloved Wake (not to mention to us) before heading out into the wild blue to chase that eclipse, going far and going free is not in the cards quite yet....so I thought back on our inaugural sail home back in February, from Mallorca to Italy, and the three separate pods of dolphins that kept up with us for hours, dancing on the surface of the water. Still getting used to the video editing software as well, so be kind! :) From the crew of S/Y Wake, thanks for watching! If you want to be extra kind, please hit that Like or Subscribe button too. Y'all have been hearing us complain about our ridiculously small holding tank for the last two years. You've probably thought: "Just do something about it!" The reality was that the solution wasn't very simple to determine because of the location and shape of the hatch holding the tank. We got multiple opinions, and some said it simply couldn't be done. Well, we're happy to say we proved them wrong! Learn how we made it happen in this video. 🔴 Subscribe for more trawler fun and adventures aboard Sea Y’all! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNlLYqTXZbQn6iZHXC3aGvw ✅ Share this video with a fellow boat lover! https://youtu.be/s3tPw-hxRUM LET’S GET SOCIAL! 📸 Instagram: @TheSeaYallLife 👥 Facebook: @TheSeaYallLife 🍍 Website: www.TheSeaYallLife.com
