Hello everyone. I know you can't believe it: Randy and Lennie putting out one video a week for four weeks. What's happened? Well, here's what happened. It takes so much effort to film, edit, and produce these videos. Even though I use a final edit person who helps with transitions and smoothing out the sound, it still takes 5 to 10 hours to launch an episode. We've been so busy sailing for the last almost two years that it's just taken its toll, but now that we're in the home stretch of 2026, we sure as heck want to knock out all the videos from last year, all the way through New Zealand. This video marks the end of our passage-making across the Pacific, but there will be three or four episodes of our cruising in New Zealand, which lasted all the way through March of this year. Living with him wasn't always easy, but there were plenty of funny moments, ordinary moments, and memories that I wouldn't trade for anything. The Most Generous Village in the South Pacific? 🍫 Sailing near the equator is a game of patience. With the wind completely dead, we motored our way to the northern tip of Vella Lavella Island to a place called Pas Pas Kato. Our arrival was a comedy of errors—paddling for miles in the blistering sun looking for a village, only to find ourselves deep in the mangroves. But what started as a failed supply run turned into one of the most heartwarming encounters of our trip. Before we could even ask, a local family began loading our kayak with fresh produce, proving once again that in the Solomons, hospitality is the only currency that matters. In this episode, we go beneath the surface to help our new friend Ken maintain his seaweed farm, an incredible and sustainable industry that is transforming remote island economies. We also explore a unique "Reception Island"—a spot where the ruins of an old cacao competition now serve as the only place locals can catch a phone signal. Ken also walks us through the entire Cacao process: from fermenting and drying the beans to roasting them over an open fire. We combine his hand-processed chocolate with our own freshly squeezed coconut cream for the best hot cacao we’ve ever tasted. A Starlink anunciou o fim do plano Roaming Unlimited e deu 30 dias para migrar. Para quem vive a bordo e navega entre países, isso era um problema sério — a alternativa era saltar para os planos marítimos comerciais, muito acima do que um velejador de cruzeiro consegue suportar. Mas aconteceu uma coisa interessante: a comunidade de velejadores fez pressão — e a Starlink respondeu. Criou o Marítimo Pessoal, um plano pensado precisamente para este grupo. Eu completei a migração em 24 horas. No meu caso, com a conta registada nas Ilhas Fiji, o novo plano ficou em 181€/mês. Atenção: o valor muda conforme o país de registo da conta, por isso confirma o teu. 🇳🇿🇺🇸 // Day 2 was a proper test on the nerves for Team MSIG Europe, forcing our first emergency op out on the foredeck. As a heavy squall hit, we had to furl the J2 under massive load. The line couldn't take the extreme strain and let go, locking up the drum. It took a long, brutal, and fully committed effort to get it sorted, but a clever Dyneema lash got us back on track and reliable. Situation’s back under control, the rig is intact, and MSIG Europe is back to 100%! We do love a happy ending… and a quick pit stop treat. Our dinghy died miles from our sailboat as darkness closed in and a massive lightning storm rolled toward us. Then our hair began standing straight up—the terrifying warning that lightning could strike at any moment. What was supposed to be a simple family sailing trip from Miami to Key Largo for key lime pie quickly became one of the scariest nights we’ve experienced on the water. The day began perfectly. We left Miami early, spotted dolphins, and motored across a glassy ocean toward the Florida Keys. Our only real plan was to anchor in Key Largo, explore town, and find the best key lime pie we could. But boat life had other plans. After finally getting our unreliable dinghy started, we crossed some questionable water, found a dinghy dock, and walked to the Key Lime Pie Factory. When we returned, the dinghy engine wouldn’t start. We spent over an hour troubleshooting it, but nothing worked. With darkness approaching and lightning flashing around us, we had only one option: paddle all the way back to our catamaran. At first, everyone was laughing and making jokes. But as the wind picked up, the waves grew, our phones began dying, and the boat still looked impossibly far away, the mood changed. Then Malia’s hair started standing straight up—one of the warning signs of an imminent lightning strike. We were exhausted, scared, and completely exposed on the water. More than an hour later, we finally reached our sailboat safely…only to discover that our generator had stopped working. By morning, our watermaker had failed too, leaving our family without running water or flushing toilets. Just another peaceful day of living on a boat. 😂 But this episode isn’t all boat problems and terrifying storms. We enjoy our first family sunset dinner on the flybridge, sail through the Gulf Stream, and watch the boys catch a beautiful bonita—and then hook into the biggest fish they’ve ever fought! We finish the adventure back in Miami, where we dress up for one final night with Malia and Hayden before their early flight to Boise. Saying goodbye to our daughter was harder than we expected. It’s one thing for her to leave for college. It’s another knowing that we’re the ones sailing away and will soon be in another country. 🇫🇷 Décidément Manuel Cousin joue de mal chance, après un problème sur sa grande voile hier, aujourd'hui il a été retardé par une entrée d'eau. 150 litres d'eau sont rentrés par la trappe de pont. Il a fallu réagir vite pour limiter les dégâts : dos au vent pour limiter l'entrée d'eau, récupération des voiles stockées dans la trappe, puis colmatage à la colle. La trappe est condamnée et ne fuit plus.
