Cette boucle autour de la planète part et arrive à Barcelone (Espagne). Il s'agit d'un défi sportif extrême et d'une aventure océanique qui mettent les limites humaines à l'épreuve. Organisée par la Fondation Barcelonaise pour la Voile Océanique (FNOB), la régate fait partie du championnat du monde IMOCA Ocean Masters. Le départ de la course sera donné le 31 décembre 2014 à 13h00, avec une ligne de départ mouillée en face du W Barcelona hotel devant le port de la ville. Les premiers concurrents sont attendus à la fin du mois de mars 2015. Les bateaux parcourent 23 000 milles nautiques lors d'une circumnavigation de Barcelone à Barcelone, en laissant les caps de Bonne Espérance (Afrique du Sud), Leeuwin (Australie) et Horn (Chili) à bâbord (leur gauche) et l'Antarctique à tribord (leur droite). Pendant les trois mois de course, les skippers tracent leurs routes au milieu de 12 zones climatiques et traversent trois océans, en plus d'une navigation dans la mer Méditerranée. Les équipages naviguent sur des IMOCA 60 de 18,28 mètres de long. Leurs mâts peuvent atteindre une hauteur maximum de 29 mètres, soit la hauteur d'un immeuble de dix étages.

Shane took the kids out for a SUP camping trip on the Snoqualmie River. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't ideal, but the kids were troopers. Thankfully the pouring rain didn't last long. You can see Shane was able to load up the tent, sleeping bags, etc. plus our boys on the one SUP - thanks to Airhead SUP! That big board really comes in handy. Honestly, I'm not too bummed I sat this one out- I did really miss them and it looks like they had a great time. We'll have to get a light and easy tent for four (and sleeping bags for four) someday for future family trips... Gitte has also grown up with boat and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders a 4 years ago. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 3 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Litza is a Devon Rex cat and she is the real cattain aboard. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea.

Episode 013 In this video we spend a few days anchored off Rotoroa Island in the Hauraki Gulf. Rotoroa Island used to be an alcohol rehabilitation center owned and operated by the Salvation Army. Because of this, it still has a few historical buildings remaining including a jailhouse, school house, butchery and a church. However, it is now owned by a private trust who have opened it up to the public and are working hard to restore native forest on Rotoroa Island and provide a habitat to some of our most threatened native bird species. Rotoroa Island has an informative information center explaining its rich social history. We were fortunate enough to see the amazing regeneration of native forest and thriving native bird life whilst learning about Rotoroa's rich social history. Having sailed and visited the island sanctuary a few times now, we have to say that this is a must see on list of places to sail to, anchor in, and visit! Some of these experiences have taken us out of our comfort zone many times but as the saying goes, ‘a comfort zone is a wonderful place but nothing grows there’. Our plan is to do blue water cruising. So, over the next year we will be completing some maintenance work on Tāiko and be getting her ready to meet New Zealand’s category 1 requirements to be able to go offshore. Diesmal kommen wir leider nicht zum Segeln. Wir beschäftigen uns mit dem Ziel und Inhalt dieses Kanals und was für die Zukunft geplant ist. Schwerpunkt soll auf dem Segeln und den Herausforderungen als Eigentümer/halter eines Segelbootes liegen. Natürlich werden wir da auf Aufgaben treffen, wie etwa die Reinigung des Duschabflüsses, was dann innerhalb von Sekunden in einen 1/2 tägige Arbeit eskaliert. Wir schauen uns also an wo wir den Proviant verstauen und ihn hoffentlich wiederfinden. Die Benutzung der Daewoo Mini Waschmaschine mit der franzöischen Anleitung fordert auch gleich den ganzen Segler. Dann backen wir ein Brot im Microwellenbackofen und verteilen die Klimaanlage des armen Mannes im Schiff (Ventilatoren). Dazu jede Menge kleine Ausrüstungsgenstände für die Küche. Auch nehmen wir uns die Verkabelung unseres Bord PC´s sowie die Darstellung des B&G auf Monitor und Ferseher vor und installieren einen HDMI Switch. Das alles um unseren NEEL 47 Trimaran für die zuküftigen Reisen gut auszustatten und kennenzulernen. Wie kannst du als Crewmitglied in dieser kritischen Situation effektiv handeln und die Person sicher zurück an Bord bringen? (c) Laurens Morel / Salty Colours / CMC ► Steven Burzon n’en revient toujours pas : samedi 3 février, le vent n’a pas daigné dépasser les 4 nœuds et la journée de régate a été ajournée dès 9h00… Et pourtant, relève l’initiateur du Caribbean Multihull Challenge, la date de l’événement basé à Saint-Martin est exactement calée sur la statistique la plus favorable pour un régime d’alizés d’est bien costaud. Mais pour cette sixième édition, le vent n’aura pas daigné dépasser les 12 nœuds – ce qui a fait les affaires de quelques-uns. Le millésime 2023 avait déjà étrenné une nouvelle catégorie Rallye et des parcours avec des temps à battre ; cette édition 2024 a intégré un quatrième jour, histoire que la fête des multicoques dans la zone Caraïbes soit plus belle encore. Sur les 37 inscrits, 35 étaient bien présents – deux bateaux ont été contraints d’ajourner leur participation en raison de problèmes techniques. 9 multicoques étaient inscrits en CSA 1 ; cette classe a été animée par une belle bagarre entre deux catamarans de 66 pieds, le Gunboat 66 Mana de Ricardo Pavoncelli, dont l'équipage comprenait deux légendes du large – le Britannique Brian Thompson et le Français Loïck Peyron –, et le HH66 Nemo de l’Américain Todd Slynstad, qui accueillait à son bord des marins professionnels comme Ryan Breymaier, Mat Bryant ou encore Jan Majer. Le duel s’est terminé à l’avantage du HH en temps réel et en temps compensé. Le HH, plutôt typé petit temps avec son gréement particulièrement élancé, s’est finalement retrouvé très à l’aise, et même capable de lever une coque alors que le vent n’a donc jamais dépassé les 3 Beaufort. Pour Todd, c’est aussi une belle histoire de mer qui se termine au mieux : « Nemo a été un excellent bateau, mais je vais maintenant passer à un trimaran MOD 70, et j'espère monter d'un cran en vitesse du bateau et m'amuser encore plus. » On a noté la présence du MG5 de Marc Guillemot – dont l’équipage était digne de la French Connection façon grand cru avec Bruno Jourden, Nicolas Raynaud et Régis Guillemot, excusez du peu… Des compétences exceptionnelles qui n’auront pas permis de sauver le gros rating du plan Christophe Barreau, un catamaran lourdement taxé par ses dérives asymétriques et typé brise. Certains trimarans représentaient avec brio une partie du patrimoine de la course au large, avec la participation de deux trimarans, le fameux Tryst dessiné par Dick Newick et construit en 1968, et Triple Jack, un Kelsall 47 soigneusement restauré par un équipage des BVI toutes proches. Les Diam 24 ont également assuré le spectacle ; 10 d’entre eux ont répondu présents, confirmant l’excellent niveau et le dynamisme de cette flotte mise en place à Saint-Martin il y a trois ans seulement par Pierre Altier. La coupe a été décernée au Diam 24 Merlin d'Alexis de Boucaud, qui a enchaîné 8 victoires sur les 12 courses. Les concurrents inscrits dans la classe Rallye avaient la possibilité d’être classés ; la grande majorité des 16 concurrents ont pu profiter avant tout des mouillages de Great Bay, Orient Bay, Anse Marcel, et bien sûr de Saint-Barth.
