Our sailing trip to the south coast of France culminates in a family vacation to the Camargue (Provence) with Pernille's parents, and a visit to Leo's grandmother in the deep French countryside. But while we have to be on the look out for potential wildfires, we learn that Leo's hometown in Greece is experiencing an extreme flooding. Apologies for the slightly random filming in this vlog, but, as you can imagine, we had a lot going on behind the scenes. Thought we'd share the footage we do have anyway - as we would definitely recommend sailing the southern coast of France. After the interview Anders and I head over to the new Arcona 50, which recently has been appointed European Yacht of the year and it happen be that the boat at the exhibition is equipped with Flexiteek so we wanted to see how it looked and while there we of cause made a short boat tour of the Arcona 50. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is not to go to a specific place but to reach a state of mind where we can really enjoy life. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders in 2017. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 4 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea. During season 2 We sailded south to Dieppe Normandy France. After a winter in France in Season 3 we started to sail the Atlantic coast of Europe to Xufre in Spain where we lifted the boat over the summer while we where back in Gotland to work at our hostel we got there. Season 4 got a short sailing season where we only sailed to Lagos on the Algarve coast of Portugal where we hauled out once again this time to go throug a long list of boatwork and to build a solar arch to make the boat more self-suficient with electricity. After 6 months in Lagos we kicked-off season 5 with real bluewater sailing first to the northerly Atlantic island Porto Santo and Madeira and then further out to the Azores that lays in the middle of the Atlantic ocean before turning back towards the mainland and south coast of Portugal again.

On the other hand, the atmosphere both on and off the water has never been better. The trade winds, in fine form at between 20 and 25 knots, undoubtedly had something to do with it... The five entrants in CSA 1 enjoyed superb courses towards Saba, Saint-Barts and Anguilla. The HH66 Lee Overlay Partners (ex Nemo) put on a great show, impressively flying a hull and, above all, peak speeds pushing 30 knots. The Gunboat 72 Layla was not to be outdone, with her GPS recording a top speed of 24.5 knots. The La Grande-Motte shipyard's first flybridge catamaran won the overall race on corrected time. The Diam 24 fleet was of course severely tested by the choppy conditions, but there too, they put on quite a show. In this fury of spray and exciting runs, the crew of Anomaly came out on top, leaving their rivals with no chance of a rematch. For the past two years, the CMC has been running a second division called Rally. This year, the 9 participants were accompanied - and looked after - by our Marketing Director Gwen Dorning. My scuba trip to the Triton Bay area of West Papua, Indonesia, in late 2024 / early 2025. I stayed with Triton Bay Divers and did 3-4 dives a day with them, as well as relaxing in their beautiful resort. Beautiful coral of all types, multitudinous fishes, whale sharks, dolphins, guitar sharks, and many more weird, rare, and beautiful sea creatures are in the video, as well as a look at the resort itself. We’re hauled out in northern Borneo to kick off our repower. The old engine is out, the new bed is in—today we start the install with the ZF SD-12 saildrive before bringing our Nanni N4.65 aboard. In this episode: Why we had to separate the saildrive (tiny engine room!) and lower the upper unit using a roof pad-eye.Catching the splined coupling sleeve and protecting the diaphragm and a star-pattern, stepped torque on the clamp-ring bolts for even compression. What we like about the SD-12: solid build, double-seal diaphragm, service tube for in-boat oil changes Plus a little insight into our family life here in the sleepy fishing town of Kudat. James Mayo was named as Australian Sailing’s Male Sailor of the Year in 2025, reflecting his extraordinary achievement in winning the Etchells World Championships in 2025, for the third time (his first was in 1999 and the second in 2024). The list of former winners of that much sought-after trophy reads like a Who’s Who of the world’s best sailors; so it’s no surprise to see James join Matt Allen and James’ Etchells crew-mate Graeme Taylor (GT) aboard Master Lock Comanche for another tilt at Line Honours in the race to Hobart.

While some days living on a boat can be stressful, dramatic & tiring, others can be slow, calm and wholesome. This week was the later. En ce lundi 3 décembre, Armel Le Cléac'h souhaite un joyeux anniversaire à son fils, Edgar, qui fête ses deux ans.

Revivez les temps forts du vendredi 21 décembre, 42ème jour de course sur le Vendée Globe 2012-201. A la mi-course, la fatigue commence à peser. Alors que les premiers vont aborder l'antiméridien, qui va se matérialiser par des longitudes ouest qui vont aller en décroissant, tous les concurrents avouent des coups de pompe, des baisses de moral et parfois du matériel qui montre des signes de faiblesse. Ils sont maintenant cinq à être entrés de plain-pied dans le Pacifique. Derrière les deux leaders, François Gabart (MACIF) et Armel Le Cléac'h (Banque Populaire), toujours collés serrés, seuls Jean-Pierre Dick (Virbac-Paprec 3), Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss) et Bernard Stamm (Cheminées Poujoulat) parviennent à suivre le rythme depuis 24 heures. Pas de grandes options tactiques au programme des prochains jours, mais une course de vitesse où il va falloir savoir doser les efforts pour aller vite tout en veillant à ménager le matériel. Car le Pacifique, c'est une traversée de près de 5000 milles. En son milieu, la terre la plus proche est à 2000 milles et ce ne sont pas les quelques expérimentations de cerf-volant faites par Sam Davies lors de son convoyage retour qui garantiraient une vitesse suffisante en cas de démâtage. C'est pourquoi, tous s'acharnent à travailler sur leur bateau, de manière à pouvoir affronter ce tronçon de la course dans les meilleures conditions possibles. Les organismes sollicités Même en tête de course, les deux leaders, pourtant fort avares de confidences sur leurs petits malheurs, se sont laissés aller à reconnaître que les journées précédentes à haute vitesse avaient été particulièrement éprouvantes. Entre le bruit répercuté dans l'habitacle de carbone, les chocs des vagues, les mouvements désordonnés du bateau au gré des déferlantes, difficile de trouver le repos. Joints au direct de ce matin, Armel Le Cléac'h comme François Gabart avouaient goûter des conditions plus clémentes, même si leur vitesse s'en ressentait. Bernard Stamm a d'autres soucis. Le navigateur suisse a le nez dans la boite à outils, avec la nouvelle défaillance de sa colonne de winch et des problèmes récurrents de fixation de ses hydrogénérateurs. Bertrand de Broc (Votre Nom autour du Monde avec EDM Projets) doit, en premier lieu, pouvoir installer de nouveau un emmagasineur de secours après la rupture de son premier. Mais pour ce faire, il faut que le navigateur bigouden puisse aller travailler à l'extrémité de son bout dehors, opération impossible dans les conditions actuelles de mer et de vent. Même ceux qui n'ont pas révélé de soucis techniques majeurs sont rattrapés par la fatigue, à l'image d'un Tanguy de Lamotte (Initiatives-cœur) avouant avoir dormi six heures d'affilée alors qu'il était parti pour une sieste de quelques dizaines de minutes. Seul Alessandro Di Benedetto (Team Plastique) affichait une forme éclatante, malgré une navigation dans les petits airs, toujours agaçante. Le Vendée Globe 2012 est la course autour du monde en solitaire sans escale et sans assistance qui passe par les trois caps, le Cap de Bonne Espérance, le Cap Leeuwin et le Cap Horn. Le départ de la course est donné des Sables d'Olonne tous les quatre ans. Les éditions précédentes ont été remportées par Titouan Lamazou, Alain Gautier, Christophe Auguin, Michel Desjoyeaux et Vincent Riou. Manera sencilla de organizar el inventario en un barco. Fruto de mi experiencia trabajando en departamentos de producción y logística de PYMES industriales. Comenzamos clasificando los espacios de estiba que encontramos en nuestro barco. En el Acrobat I clasifiqué 82, veremos cuantos me salen en el Acrobat II Luego anotamos en una hoja de cálculo (o cuaderno, si sois de la vieja escuela) lo que estibamos en cada espacio. Los elementos pequeños los agrupamos en Tuppers numerados. Esos elementos los podéis clasificar a groso modo: "fusibles" o al detalle (como se hace en las empresas: 3 fusibles de 3A, 2 fusibles 10A, etc) IMPORTANTE: actualizar el inventario si: - Cambiamos cosas de sitio - Consumimos elementos (gastamos un bote de Sika, sustituimos un fusible...) - Añadimos elementos El botiquín debe llevar su propio inventario especificando la fecha de caducidad de los elementos que las tengan. Podéis hacer inventario de comida, especificando la fecha de caducidad como en el botiquín.
