Despite her age, the boat has been carefully maintained by her three owners in total. The boat can sail a maximum of 6 persons. The actual owner who bought the boat in 2018 made lots of upgrades to the boat; such as new curtains and bimini in summer 2019. New upholstery in the cockpit and sailor seat. New bed in the cabin as well as the new wood basement of the bed. Varnishing of the interior and exterior wood and many more. The boat has been out of the water for the last time in December 2019 when antifouling and anodes have been done. We finally decided to unwrap our girl. The tarps have protected her running rigging, among other things, from the sun since we put her up on the hard. It is finally time to take off the covers and see what we got underneath. We chill out at Kata Beach in Phuket and get in some much needed chill time away from boat work. I have been working on my surfing since I got to Phuket. Until we arrived here I had only caught one wave on my own, ever. Now I am catching them regularly. Surfing with Captain King and picking up tips has been quite the experience. He has been surfing for over 40 years, most of which he did in Hawaii. This week his daughter hangs with us, and no surprise, she surfs also. Our time in Thailand is getting short and Matahom will be going in the water soon. We cannot wait! This was hands down one of the coolest things I've ever done. 6 dives over 2 days. We were swarmed by calm and curious lemons, silkies, a few nurse sharks, and a couple of shy bulls that kept their distance. We didn't get to see the 10' male tiger that patrols the area that we were hoping for, but we'll be back. You can't get a more intimate, up close and personal experience with sharks than this. Emerald Charters ran a tight ship and they were true pros in the water. These were among the more challenging dives I've done as you're in strong current and have to begin descending as soon as you hit the water to stay close together as a group. Definitely not a beginner dive.

After a light World Championship back in October in Portoroz, Slovenia, the nine teams competing today off Muscat’s Al Mouj Marina at the 44Cup Oman were well dialled in for the opening day of the 2022 44Cup’s grand finale. Emerging relieved and happy out of a dark, windy night off Les Sables d’Olonne, Jérémie Beyou, crossed the finish line of his fifth Vendée Globe at zero 58 (UTC), to take fourth place from the record fleet of 40 starters. The elapsed time for the 48 year old skipper of Charal is 74 days, 12 hours, 56 minutes and 54 seconds and he finishes 9 days, and 17 hours, behind race winner Charlie Dalin, (Macif Santé Prévoyance). The Royal Ocean Racing Club is delighted to announce that Volvo 70, Tschüss 2 (USA), owned by RORC member Christian Zugel, is the overall winner of the 2025 RORC Transatlantic Race. While the majority of boats are still racing, none of the competitors at sea can beat Tschüss 2's corrected time under IRC, to win the race overall. Andy Burdick shares tactics and boat-handling techniques for racing the MC Scow in light airs. It’s week 12 of the Vendée Globe, and Boris is closing in on the finish line in Les Sables-d'Olonne! Renault on the Ball as ‘Driven’ Video Series Revs Up As the official car partner of the GAA and GPA, Renault Ireland has created a video series featuring some of Ireland’s best known GAA players, including Renault Brand Ambassadors, to be rolled out across its social media channels this summer as the GAA Championship season heats up for 2019. Entitled Driven, this visually striking series features six prominent GAA personalities taking a reflective, honest and open look at where each discovered their love of the game and learned their trade, while reminiscing on career highlights and the pride of wearing the county colours. Over 2,500 kilometres were clocked up during the making of the series all around Ireland in the home clubs and counties of each player over six days of filming. The series takes viewers on a journey with Renault Brand Ambassadors including Kerry footballing legend Marc Ó Sé, Clare hurling captain Anthony Daly, and Westmeath star Dessie Dolan, as well as Kilkenny hurling champ Jackie Tyrrell and Dublin legend Alan Brogan. Also featured in the series is rising Cork footballer Orla Finn. Spearheaded by Renault’s Marketing Manager Liz O’Gorman, Brand Communications Manager Karla Clifford, the social team at OMD Ireland and production company Headcase, Driven has so far garnered over 3 million impressions across Renault Ireland’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels, as well as almost 1 million video views collectively. Driven kicked off in June and will be running with videos released regularly online until mid-August. A final ‘hero’ video summarising the highlights of each episode will also be released.
