We’ve finally made it to the Mediterranean, and we can already feel the shift. The warmer air, calmer seas, and slower pace of sailing is something we didn’t realise how much we missed after months along the Atlantic coast.🌺 In this episode, we get our first real taste of Mediterranean boat life, where sailing feels easier and calmer. But even though we’re far from home, we celebrate Easter, inviting friends to join us for a full traditional Swedish Easter feast on board.🐣 Join us as we continue our sailing journey from Sweden to the Mediterranean, sharing the reality of boat life, both the peaceful moments and everything in between. We started the journey in our unique 33 foot sailboat from 1980, which we sold in Kiel, and luckily one week after we bought a new boat, a Bavaria 37, from 2000 more suited for our adventures ahead. 🔔 If you love real-life sailing stories and adventures where we learn as we go, don’t forget to subscribe and join us on the journey! 🎬 Check out all our videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLW5XfQ-xoWegVqr10z1ukHYnIOlh3kQfc 📱 Follow us on Instagram for more updates: https://www.instagram.com/sailanddoxie/ #sailing #sailinglife #boatlife #liveaboard #couple #adventure #dog

We bought our Beneteau Oceanis 430 in October 2023 with zero sailing experience but the belief that we can do this. We have filmed our journey from looking for boats, buying the boat, downsizing so we can liveaboard and all the messy wonderful life stuff in between. Join us now as we start to get our boat prepared for liveaboard life. As new sailors we want to share all of our learnings and keep it real in our videos. A bit of a cold and gray day on the ICW. With no heat in the cockpit and the generator broken, no recycled heaters, we're just kind of working our way south as best we can. An early morning up and going before sunrise ends long before sunset. We reflect on the decision of whether to get off the dock. Sometimes it is a much better idea to not leave than to take a chance.

Day 23 of the 75 Hard Challenge and things are starting to click into place. This is where discipline turns into habit. Today started with an indoor strength workout using the IsoBow and Bullworker X5, combining isometric holds and dynamic resistance training. It might not look like much from the outside… but the muscle engagement is intense. We had an early appointment this morning, so we made sure to get the workout done first — no excuses, no skipping. That’s the mindset. 🔥 Today’s Breakdown: ✅ 35 min IsoBow workout (isometric training) ✅ 15 min Bullworker X5 (dynamic strength) ✅ Progress photos taken ✅ Water intake on point ✅ Reading Atomic Habits (evening session today) 🚴 Afternoon bike ride planned 🥣 What I Eat Daily (Simple & Effective) Breakfast: Porridge oats, chia seeds, flax seeds, whey protein, creatine, peanut butter & honey Lunch: Wholegrain rye bread with sardines (or omelette with eggs, egg whites, spinach & mushrooms) Dinner: Air fryer chicken fillet with salad Greek yoghurt, strawberries, chia seeds & almonds This is what consistency looks like. Nothing fancy — just solid habits repeated daily. We’ve even got friends visiting next week… and they already know — the routine doesn’t change. 💬 Key Takeaway: This is no longer a challenge… This is now a lifestyle. 👍 If you're doing 75 Hard or thinking about starting: Drop a comment — I’d love to hear where you're at in your journey. 🔔 Subscribe to follow the full 75 Hard series 📅 New updates daily ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We've also added some links next to the equipment we use if you want to check them out on Amazon. It's a rollercoaster of emotions aboard Innerbloom this episode! We discover and explore the renowned beauty and wonder of Middle Percy Island with our friend @VernonDeckLearningByDoing and Jake and Justine from Oasis 2. A little first aid, an old goat gummin' on star fruit and a hike through the scenic landscape of this deeply historical and awe-inspiring island. After an arduous evening of a rolley anchorage and no sleep, we decide to stick with the status quo and join the convoy of yachts heading to Scawfell Island to seek refuge from the SE's. We make some seriously poor decisions, and pay the price of our naivety on what we consider one of our most challenging passages yet as novice sailors. Hop aboard and please, PLEASE put your life jacket on! We’re a little behind on our videos - we’re just having too much fun! RORC Shares Hard Won Wisdom for the Round Britain & Ireland Race On 30 April,100 days to go before the start of the 50th anniversary of the Round Britain & Ireland Race on 09 August, the Royal Ocean Racing Club held a live webinar. The recording is now available to watch, giving sailors, supporters and prospective entrants the chance to hear practical advice from those who know the race from the inside. The hour long presentation brought together a highly experienced panel with nine race campaigns between them. The aim was to help competitors prepare for one of the Club’s great offshore challenges. Hosted by RORC Vice Commodore Derek Shakespeare, who will be taking part in his first race. The panel brought together professional, Corinthian, military and double handed perspectives, with contributions from Derek Shakespeare, Pip Hare, RORC Commodore Deb Fish, Will Naylor and Sam White. The aim was clear: to share insight, reduce uncertainty and help crews prepare properly for a race that demands far more than simple endurance.
