In this episode we sail up the coast of Indonesia on a 1000 mile passage from Bali, as we slowly head towards thailand and Malaysia. With 8 crew, there are always the odd dramas developing, and this trip was no different! SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. They found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are now sailing across through Asia headed for the Indian Ocean!! In this episode we explore the inside of the USS Wisconsin. Looking around we realise just how huge she is, not only in terms of size but also in terms of how much was needed to build her. Inside we find out how the troops really lived. Food certainly was not in short supply but it also became apparent just how much preparation and amount of food was needed to supply the very large number of crew. The cramp and warm conditions of the sleeping quarters really brought it home just what the troops went through We check out the gun turret and even we find it difficult to get in and out! We get caught in a major downpour and show you just what a supermarket shop can turn into - a real time-consuming and messy experience. Timestamps 00:00 – Start of video, intro 00:20 – Enter the Wisconsin ship 00:45 – Uphill on the bow 01:00 – Assessing how the anchor chain copes on the windlass 01:40 – At the very bow of the ship 01:55 – Nickname is Whisky 02:30 – Size of the Wisconsin 02:52 – Not a hot tub 03:03 – Statistics of the Wisconsin 03:25 – Huge amounts of shore power 03:57 – Enter the inside of the ship 04:10 – Facts about the Wisconsin crew 04:32 – Food facts 05:00 – Sleeping conditions aboard the Wisconsin 06:19 – We enter a high voltage area 06:53 – We call Ryan and Sophie ;) 07:56 – Dentist clinic on board and find James having a filling 😉 08:34 – Gun turret 10:04 – We show you what a supermarket shop can really look like 12:33 – Next time aboard Aequus
