Well in true narrowboat fashion, there's no such thing as a simple job. Every job always leads to another, or is a much bigger job than you originally thought. This time, a simple leaking mushroom in need of new seals became a too big hole that needs a weld job once the weather improves. So for now, it's a bodge job to just weatherproof it over the winter. The sealant I used on this job was fantastic, and recommended by marina staff, its called Sika Sikaflex EBT+.

Vlogs across the board have been in decline over the past 3 years for several reason. In my opinion it is beacuse of youtube's preference for Shorts, new Ai technology and IP Theft from bad actors

Life on a sailboat isn’t always about epic adventures or dramatic ocean crossings. Often, it’s about the simple moments—short sails to the next bay, waiting out weather, reparing our Autohelm 2000, going for a hike, and enjoying the slow rhythm of life on the water. This is the reality of the full-time sailing lifestyle, and honestly, we love these kinds of days just as much as the big, exciting ones. In this episode, we take you along for one of those quieter days aboard, where we move to a new anchorage, settle in, and take in the beauty of our surroundings. With our dogs on board, sailing with pets always means planning time for them to stretch their legs, so we head ashore for a hike along the Costa Brava, exploring the rugged coastline of Spain by sailboat. This is what real sailing life often looks like—slow travel, adapting to the conditions, appreciating the little things, and embracing the off-grid sailing life. Whether it's sailing the Med, finding a quiet spot to anchor, or just getting some work done in between boat projects, this is the kind of balance that makes living aboard so special. 00:00 Intro Anchored in Cala Canyelles (Costa Brava, Spain) 00:18 Reparing our old Autohelm 2000 01:41 Gloomy Moments at Anchor 02:14 Cooking on a Sailboat: Pancake Mornings at anchor 03:38 Bad Weather is passing by and moving the boat to the next bay 04:22 Arriving in Lloret de Mar (Costa Brava, Spain) and going for a hike with the dogs If you’ve ever wondered what living on a sailboat really feels like, this episode gives you a glimpse into the everyday joys of this lifestyle. Sometimes, the best moments aren’t the wildest ones—they’re the ones where we get to simply be. Facing the challenges of solo sailing as a female sailor, I navigated the highs and lows of single-handed sailing while tackling DIY boat repair projects, from engine fixes to full boat refits on a budget. My life aboard was a mix of adventure and reflection, shaping an independent woman’s story of resilience, personal growth, and embracing the sailing lifestyle. Along the way, I became an ocean conservation activist with In Mocean, stumbled across my dog Boga, and discovered the joys and challenges of sailing with a dog. Now, I’m exploring a new chapter, having jumped aboard my partner’s Hallberg Rassy Rasmus with Boga and his Australian Kelpie, Jango. Together, we face the unique dynamics and challenges of sailing as a couple, balancing off-grid life, sustainable sailing, and the demands of long-term cruising. If you’re interested in remote sailing adventures, authentic sailing stories, and the realities of living on a sailboat, this channel offers a glimpse into the world of DIY projects, the sailing lifestyle, and life’s transformative moments on the water. Sailing vessel Tapatya. My evaluation of the Andalusian town and marina of Rota as a location to spend the winter for cruising sailors. This is the story of SV Tapatya, a self-built, Jay Benford designed, 31.8ft, junk schooner-rigged cruising sailboat. The videos are a week-by-week record of our adventures as I live aboard, sail and strive to find out just what such a self-built, low-budget vessel is capable of. These videos take a lot of time and effort to make, in what is already a time-intensive project. Your support in watching, subscribing and sharing these videos is very much appreciated.
