Heyyooo everybody! Thanks for being here! This week we are finally getting feeling a bit less sniffly and making our way onwards and northwards up the Atlantic coast of Portugal and into Spain (sorry for the spoiler). We will sail from Lisbon to Nazare, which hosts some of the largest waves ever recorded (!!!) and then make another couple of stints until we reach Galicia, Spain. We'll anchor up the river near Aveiro, and also in the outskirts of Porto. The winds that blow along this coast are pretty predictable this time of year. The trade winds that dominate this bit of sea will start to set in around the beginning of May, blowing North to South with very little break in between. With this knowledge in mind, we head north, where the water is blue, the dolphins are cute, and the food is good! This video is for our grandson, Greyson. He spent part of the summer with us, and it was some of the best time of our lives. We picked him up and flew him to Port Jefferson where he learned to drive the dinghy. Then we spent a few days at the Mystic Seaport Museum and Aquarium. It was there that Greyson changed his career plans from bee keeper to seal trainer. We stopped at Cuttyhunk to prepare for our trip to Maine. And Greyson tried oysters for the first time. We leave Silver Gull Creek and make our way to the nearby Crocodile Creek using the tides to help us. It’s important to get the timing right to get into the little hole at the top of the creek. We spend a few days collecting oysters and checking out the amazing scenic changes as the creek rises and falls. We also enjoy a lovely fresh water swim in the rock pool. Then it’s a sad goodbye as we head off to Silver Gull Creek to fill up Nutshell from the very convenient water point on the structure. Thanks for watching.
