I want...... no NEED! For this wonderful, amazing, great dog "Prada" to be adopted to a loving forever home somewhere far far away where it's much colder than it is here in the Dominican Republic! Here's the deal: For the past couple months I've been volunteering with the Coconut Hound Haven in Luperon the Dominican Republic. This place is a sanctuary for dogs that have been abandoned, mistreated, mal nourished, or left to starve. This is the place that's cleaned up the streets of the little town, and helped give so many dogs a second chance at life. They do an absolutely amazing job, especially considering the limited resources they have to work with(donate if you can please). When I first started volunteering I'd help walk, socialize, and play with the dogs. Yes that is what they call helping out, and it's very much needed. But I just call that fun. I got to pet & play with dogos! However, I soon started realized I could do more. I could help specific dogs get adopted using my social media channels. So that's what I did. In particular I've been focusing on Prada. A 3 year old, 60lb pure bred Shepard/Huskey 50/50 mix. And she has been doing amazing! Part two of our canal adventure going through Scotland with our sail boat. The weather is still cooperating with us and a canal transit can't be better. The highly competitive Mini Maxi group of boats powered out of the Heads led by Sam Hayne’s chartered Celestial V70 (Willow) followed closely by Anthony Johnston’s URM Group, Philip Turner’s Alive, David Griffith’s Whisper and David Goetze’s No Limit. Alive (engine Issues) & URM Group (dismasted) both retired from the race on the first evening. Celestial V70 went on to take 2nd place in Line Honours and 1st place on IRC overall. Whisper & No Limit arrived safely in Hobart taking 4th & 5th place in IRC Div 0.
