This is Episode 23 of our adventure, we have 5 weeks until we launch the boat and move aboard. This week Hugh has some help from our friend Tom. They start to reattach all the deck fittings and take a look the generator bought last week. With the help of Andy, Hugh services the engine and reattaches the rudder. He gets help from the children with more deck fittings and tests out a portable fuel filter. Our new lithium batteries arrive and Hugh starts work on the rack to house them. All in all its been a very busy and productive week. We are a family of five with plans for an epic adventure, sailing around the world. We have bought a boat we have to gut it, rebuild it, sell all of our possessions and have the guts to cast off. Follow our adventures. In this episode, Capitana Katie, Eddie, and Melanie join as crew for an overnight passage from San Pedro, CA to Smuggler's Cove, Santa Cruz Island. We started with plans for the Coches Prietos anchorage. Due to small craft advisories and forecast winds, we decide to divert to the YellowBanks/Smuggler's Cove anchorages to avoid small, crowded anchorages and the possible need to deploy a stern anchor.
