🛥️ Jour J : Mon bateau touche enfin l’eau ! 🌊 Ça y est, c’est officiel : je suis propriétaire de mon Élisabethan 29 ! Et pour fêter ça, quoi de mieux qu’une mise à l’eau pleine de rebondissements ? 🎉 🎭 Au programme de cette journée mémorable : 🔧 Dernière minute ? Dernière minute ! Installation express d’une pompe de cale avant le levage du bateau. Un petit sprint improvisé pour récupérer le matériel manquant, mais heureusement, le passe coque est au-dessus de la ligne de flottaison. Donc on pourra finaliser une fois à l’eau ! 😅 🚢 Plouf ! Ça flotte ! (avec une petite fuite surprise) 💦 Le bateau est enfin à l’eau, mais au moment de démarrer le moteur… Surprise ! Une vis oubliée sur la purge de l’étambot et un collier de serrage manquant. Résultat ? Une fuite. 😬 On a quand même réussi à rejoindre la place de port, et l’après-midi, les élèves de l’INM prennent le relais pour terminer la mise en place de la pompe de cale et fixer le collier. 🤞 Prochain épisode : fuite stoppée ou mission colmatage niveau expert ? Suspense !

In 2024 Edward Curry Hyde and Scott Robertson both completed their first Sydney Hobart race as double-handers. It was an initiation by fire, given the very tough conditions of that race, but undaunted Edward has returned this time pairing up with the very experienced Lincoln Dews. They completed the race in good shape, presently lying third in the IRC Doublehanded division and an impressive 4th overall on IRC.

We are Easy Day Adventures, a family of four taking one adventure at a time. In this video series we are pointing North to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to go swimming up in the Arctic Ocean. Why? Because it’s there. Plus, it will make a great adventure for our growing boys who are learning how to dream BIG. Why not come along for the ride? Sometimes we live on our sailboat, other times we explore Terra Firma with our OVRLND rig. Either way, it’s always an adventure! In this video we travel about 800 miles from Juneau to Hatcher Pass where we find an absolutely stunning hike on Marmot Peak. We first take a ferry from Juneau to Haines where we begin our time on the road. We journey through the Haines Highway Summit on a rainy day after crossing back into British Colombia reaching Haines Junction in the afternoon. The following day held another border crossing back into Alaska where we found a nice campsite on Indian Creek between Tok and Palmer. Our third travel day held views of the Matanuska Glacier and errands in the Palmer/Wasilla area. Finally, it was time to see Hatcher Pass which exceeded ALL of our expectations. Our first night was on a small pullout on Archangel Road with stunning 360-degree views. The following day held the most beautiful hike of our trip so far. An approximately 4 mile out and back hike up Marmot Peak held insane views of the Talkeetna Range. Once you gain the ridge, a special knife blade path takes you higher to the proper summit. We will never forget that hike. That afternoon we explored a little more and were rewarded for it. After driving to the end of Upper Willow Road, we found a campsite on public land with a triumphant view of the whole valley. The boys slept well that night after they opted for an after-dinner hike close to the campsite. What an amazing place!
