We set our sights on The Human Rights museum as we had heard about this back in the US. It is a stunning building and architecturally astounding. There is enough information packed in this museum to take days to get through. It boasts impressive interactive exhibits. This museum is a must see. A short walk from the museum is the infamous “dick” bridge. It is a lovely bridge if I do say so myself, but there is a very phallic beam as the centerpoint. Either way it is fun to look at and talk about all the shapes that it looks like. This bridge spans the Red River. It was a big hub for trading in the late 1800’s. Today it has pontoon boat tours (fenders out of course) and will host a Dragon Boat race in early September. As we sat in the warmth of the late afternoon at The Forks overlooking the river, we got to watch the Dragon Boat practice. Very intimidating sport from what I saw. Needless to say, when you are downtown, put the max amount of time in the parking meter so it doesn’t interrupt your sightseeing. Also, take some selfies in front of the Giant Winnipeg sign in the park near The Human Rights Museum, it is just plain fun! This is The Boat Life. Following on from a blissful week of meeting new boat families & enjoying everyones company, things took a turn of events... Following this we move on to a popular tourist town Nydri, where we spent the following days swimming in the pool, eating out and some land time. Which also meant we made the most of being near a chandlery & ticked off a few things from the 'to do' list that we had put on the backburner while we were too busy enjoying ourselves.

Cambiare olio e filtri periodicamente è fondamentale per prevenire usura e danni interni. ## 3. Protezione dalla Corrosione: Il Ruolo degli Anodi Sacrificali L’acqua salata e le correnti galvaniche possono corrodere il metallo del motore. Per evitarlo, esistono gli **anodi sacrificali**, realizzati in zinco o altri materiali, che attirano la corrosione e si consumano al posto delle parti metalliche del motore. Controllarli regolarmente e sostituirli quando sono troppo consumati è una pratica indispensabile per prevenire danni costosi. Se il motore deve rimanere in acqua per lunghi periodi, esistono soluzioni come i **sistemi di protezione con secchi morbidi** che permettono di mantenere il piede del motore isolato dall’acqua, riducendo gli effetti della corrosione e delle correnti galvaniche. ## 4. Qualità del Carburante: Attenzione a Cosa Immetti nel Serbatoio La benzina di scarsa qualità può compromettere gravemente il funzionamento del motore. Un carburante contaminato o sporco può causare problemi al minimo, difficoltà di avviamento e persino danni permanenti agli iniettori e al sistema di alimentazione. Questa inattività può causare problemi come l’accumulo di ruggine nelle parti interne. När något oväntat händer är det svårt att ha en plan. Men jag har fått många frågor om vad som händer nu, så låt oss prata lite om det. Just nu är vi tillbaka i Sverige och tar dagen som den kommer. Vårt fokus är att ta en sak i taget och vara i nuet. Det har vi faktiskt blivit ganska bra på efter två år av båtliv. Samtidigt har vi såklart funderat på hur det blir med båten och äventyret. Planen JUST NU är att återvända till Karibien om ungefär en månad. Beroende på hur vi mår, hur allt känns, hur världsläget är och hur vädret ser ut kanske vi fortsätter västerut i år. Eller så stannar vi kvar i Karibien. Vi vet helt enkelt inte exakt än, och det är okej. En sak vi verkligen lärt oss under två år som heltidsresande är att man kan ha en plan… men den ändras ofta. Det handlar lika mycket om mindset. Bestämmer man sig för tidigt för exakt vad som ska hända kan man lätt känna att man måste hålla fast vid det, även om det inte känns rätt längre. Vi känner att det kommer lösa sig och att det kommer bli bra, så länge vi är tillsammans. 💙⛵️ Resten får vi bestämma senare. Det fina med att ha ett flytande hem är ju faktiskt just det: Vi kan segla dit vi vill, på egen hand. 💙 Tack för att ni följer med oss på resan. Some places are hard to leave. The last days we spent in the Bahamas brought daily lightning storms, curious dolphins, and a few final dives before turning Dark Angel toward the Dominican Republic. In this episode of Sailing Dark Angel we’re anchored at Mathew Town, Great Inagua, waiting through daily lightning storms for a weather window to beat to the Dominican Republic. Dolphins keep visiting while we manage to get both engines running long enough to dock at the marina for fuel. Antes de iniciar nossa viagem subindo a costa do Brasil, tivemos uma longa lista de tarefas a bordo do Veleiro Cabana. Nesse vídeo mostro tudo o que rolou: abri um buraco no casco (calma, foi de propósito!), fiz a limpeza do sensor de velocidade e profundidade, organizei a bolsa de abandono e a caixa de remédios, subi no mastro para manutenção, limpei o carburador do motor do bote, troquei a bomba de água do pedal, lavei o bote e a churrasqueira… e ainda teve churrasco de hambúrguer caseiro com os amigos! Foi uma semana intensa, mas necessário para deixar tudo pronto para essa nova etapa da nossa aventura. We headed to the nearby island of Pico... we had a minor mishap in the morning with our wake up alarm but by 10am we were on our way exploring this unique volcanic island by car. By afternoon, we'd only just scratched the surface of the island and we knew we had to come back. So a few days later, we went back armed with hiking boots and cameras, ready to climb to the top of the 2500m, Pico Volcano. We hiked our asses off to to get to the top of the volcano in 3 hours... When we got to the top we were in awe of the strange and bizarre landscape that surrounded us. Steam was coming from the top of the volcano and it looked like we'd landed on an alien planet! After a walk around the top to stretch our (very) weary legs, we then had to get back down again. No mean feat when the "path" was an almost vertical rock scramble! Many, many ankle twists and falls later, we made it to the bottom. It was a pretty amazing achievement and although our legs hurt A LOT for a few days afterwards, we were so glad we'd done it. It really was an incredible sight.
