► It’s been three years now since Fountaine Pajot launched their hybrid propulsion system. The first model, equipped with two 25-kW electric pods, was the Aura 51. ► It was this very first generation that was acclaimed by Dream Yacht, as the charter company ordered a dozen units. This was both out of ecological conviction and to participate in a real-life test of the formula - the most unforgiving test for a sailboat is, of course, in charter work. Today, Smart Electric has become ODSea+, and hybrid technology has taken on a form of independence under the Joool brand. 🔧 Aujourd’hui, on s’attaque à pompe de cale ! 💦 Laurent m’a aidée (bon, disons que je l’ai aidé pendant qu’il bossait 😅) à remplacer la pompe de cale de mon voilier. On a opté pour un modèle plus compact avec flotteur intégré, parce que franchement… y’avait pas un centimètre de rab dans le puisard ! 😵‍💫 🧘‍♀️ Positions de contorsionniste, tuyaux récalcitrants, dos en miettes… mais mission accomplie ! 👉 Pompe neuve, automatique, avec clapet anti-retour et coude pour que le tuyau file droit vers le haut : ça marche nickel, et je suis soulagée d’avoir un système fiable qui se déclenche tout seul. 🧰 Et comme on ne fait jamais juste une chose sur un bateau… on a aussi fait 2 ou 3 petits bricolages autour. Built in Trinidad by the American military, it's spread across two levels cut into the top of the hillside. The higher level has the ruins of an immense dish, while the lower section is a huge, abandoned building complex. As an abandoned military station, it makes for some unique urban exploring. If you're in Trinidad and want to check out the Tracking Station it's best to do it sooner rather than later! Even since this video was filmed more of the main roof has collapsed, and we suspect the dish itself may not have many years left.
