With 100 days to go until the Olympic Games we will be counting down each day with a short interview with sailors who will be competing at London 2012. Today, we speak to Ben Ainslie (GBR) a man who needs no introduction and is aiming to become the most successful Olympic sailor of all time.

Tangaroa Mk4 35' catamaran sailing close hauled on the the Hawkesbury river with the new 3m centerboard for the first time. The boat now sails to windward and goes about when tacking with ease. The centerboard balances the helm so well I am able to walk around taking this video without the need to steer. This boat was bought as a an unfinished project for $500 with lots of rot. Prevention of further rot is on going with epoxy resin and fiberglass. This is the drawback of timber. The mast and rigging cost over $7000 and new mainsail $1400. Other sails were taken from my sail trading business (Second Sail) which has kept the project cost under control.

Just a short tribute for the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking with 1800 onboard. I wanted to do something and first thing came to mind was bring out my fiddle that I haven't played in several years and do a little practice. Thought it might be a nice way to commemorate the band that played up until the last moments, so I played as the sun was setting on the horizon, just as it did on Titanic for the last time 100 years ago. I only had an hour to practice, so yes it's a little hard on the ears, but it is what it is and as best I could do. Part 2 of the Makapu'u Lighthouse Rd Hike and Dragon's Nostrils Hike. Had a few hours to work on editing and playing around with some of the neat graphics, but we will see if I can stick with them. We traveled down from the Makapu'u Lighthouse portion of the hike on the southeast part of Oahu and made it down to the blowholes shooting giant blasts of tidal water high into the air. Fueled by the surf from the Molokai Channel, the water surges into narrow passages under the rocks and are propelled through, up and out for our enjoyment. We won't be able to see something like this until next winter season, so was very excited to catch it for the first hike of the Barefoot Hikers 2012. Barefoot Hikers is a group of novice hikers who go out whenever and check out the trails on Oahu or wherever we are. All you need to do is go on Facebook.com/BarefootHikers for meetup times.
