iFly invited Texas Avid Outdoors to meet the Red Bull Air Force Flight Team on Oct 21st 2014. This being TAO's first trip to iFly, we were a little green. That's okay. We still had a blast and we can't wait to do it again! I want to thank my 7 year old son for being our biggest fan and the camera man for this event.

Join me in the adventures of living aboard, cruising and racing my 1982 C&C 34 here in the Vancouver, BC region. I never bought s/v Moonshine with the intention of living aboard, but sometimes things just make sense. So January 1st, 2014 I moved her to a live-aboard marina and began my new life of simplified living. I still cruise, will do the odd race and one day hope to sail away into the sunset for much broader adventures! We all have lines on the boat that need to be put away, but still be ready go at a moments notice. Here is a neat method for coiling a line that eliminates that annoying twist and tangle. More Videos at: http://www.AmbientRealLife.com It was only with extreme luck that we left St Maarten and St Barth's just early enough this season to escape the wrath of what the islands expected to be a 30-40knot tropical storm, but turned into Hurricane Gonzalo just as it moved over St Barth's this past week... Our hearts and deepest condolences go out to families and friends of those that lost their lives, and the 30+ boats lost or sunk in this tragic sudden shift of weather... we wish only the best, and a speedy recovery for all those who suffered losses in this storm. The footage in the video was filmed in September 2014, about 2-3 weeks before Hurricane Gonzalo struck.. we had just left St Maarten very late in the season, and knew there was a high risk in being that far north at the time, but we headed for St Barth's on an intermediate stopover to St Kitt's on our way South to Grenada for the rest of the Hurricane season. Columbier Beach was absolutely spectacular, and of course being this late in the season we had it entirely to ourselves! We managed to get some nice drone footage from 'Sophisticated Lady' with our new "Mariner" Waterproof Drone, and you'll see that in the video.
