The UK’s leading marina operator, MDL Marinas, has signed a six-year deal to become Land Rover BAR’s Official UK Marina Partner. The exciting news sees the MDL group get behind the team – as they compete on home waters for the first time – and join the nation to back Land Rover BAR’s quest to 'Bring the Cup Home'.

Today its an early start for the journey from Burnham Marina on the river Crouch, northwards to the Blackwater and Bradwell Marina. Most people when they make this journey head well off shore to the Whitacker beacon, cut through the Swin Spitway then head back westwards and in shore. This time however we take the inshore route, through the Ray channel. As they were navigating by night with 18 to 20 knots of wind, a strong gust of wind turned the boat over. A fleet of 40 of the world’s most spectacular monohull yachts are gathered in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, for race 1 of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, which starts on Monday 7 September.
