The 2016 Transat, the singlehanded race from Plymouth UK to New York, features three "Ultime" multihulls. The 100ft Maxif, Sedebo and Actual. HUGE boats, it seems impossible to sail one singlehanded. never mind safely fly the main hull! The start of the 2016 Transat singlehanded race was on May 2nd at 2.30pm. Sadly the cold front had not yet appeared so the weather was drizzly and visibility poor. But you can see the two 100ft trimarans Macif and Sodebo plus the "small" 50fters starting. The monohulls started at the far end of the line. The Ultime multihulls were recording speeds in the high 20's and took under 1/2hour to reach the Eddystone, nearly 10 miles from the start

It’s a busy channel, which meant La Vagabonde was constantly copping the wakes of all the traffic. She was also out most nights and not coming back to the mooring ball until 5am... and was constantly complaining of a hangover. We also made the most of being moored near a city for a while, Riley went on a history tour to learn about Panama as he is recently obsessed with pirates and I went to check out an animal shelter so I could FINALLY see a sloth. I could have kept that little baby one and thrown Riles overboard to make room for him our bed HE WAS SO CUTE!!! Über die Osterfeiertage haben wir fünf Jungs einen Caddy geliehen bekommen. Völlig ohne Plan sind wir einfach Richtung Meer gefahren, und haben an den schönsten Plätzen übernachtet! Mit Tim (18), Tom (16), Michi (16), Vincent (15) & Henrik (15) Angefangen zu Filmen haben wir am ersten Morgen, nachdem wir am Ufer des Gardasees übernachtet hatten. Dann ging es weiter in die Nähe Genuas. Nach einer Nacht dort fuhren wir nach Portofino, dort angelangt mussten wir feststellen, dass Portofino sehr touristisch und teuer ist. Auf der Suche nach einem Schlafplatz kletterten wir auf einen Felsen neben der Bucht und übernachteten am schönsten Ort! Am nächsten Tag fuhren wir mit einem Zwischenstopp am Gardasee nach Hause, da Regen angesagt war.
