When looking to replace your O'Day 23's sails make sure you get a quote from www.PrecisionSailloft.com. The inhouse design makes all the difference. It starts with a consultation to ensure you have the correct cloth for your boat and where you are sailing as well as all the features that you need to make sure your sail will perform the way you want and last as long as you need it to. Once the initial consultation has been completed you are moved into the measurements and design phase of the project. This is where your sail is designed for your boat and the area that you are sailing in.

Chris Maier has provided this great video of his Ranger 33 sailing down wind in Victoria BC Canada using his Precision Sails designed mainsail and genoa. Both sails are made from Challenge Sailcloth's Warp Drive TriRadial Dacron.

E78 Vlog of Life in a Nutshell sailing travels. We leave the beautiful Santa Catalina and head towards a charming anchorage, Puerto Escondido. Plenty of cleaning and fixing. We are accompanied by dolphins along the way. We poke around Isla Ranchera and find a runway on the island. Oh, and did I mention that Magnus catches his biggest Mahi Mahi EVER! We visit Rio Santa Lucia and a yellow footed booby bird hitches a ride, just gorgeous. It’s Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We are invited to a lovely Christmas Day dinner with new friends at Isla Cavada. Thank you all for watching and supporting this amazing adventure. Episode 18. Super yachts, Seasickness & night sailing. This week on Susan Ann II we start our journey down to the Canary Islands in order to be there in time for the start of the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers. First stop of course has to be Monaco and, purely coincidentally, it happens to be Super Yacht Week. So, while I nip off to do a course in Marseilles, France, Hayley gets offered a job for the week and earns our first and only income for over 7 months now! Not that drinking Champagne on a 100m yacht sounds like hard work to me! We collected a friend of mine, Barney who came along to help us do a few night watches and get the boat down to Ibiza in one sail. Luckily, the winds were really blowing, we made such good time that we could stop over in Majorca to have dinner with another friend of ours, Simon. Unfortunately, with strong winds and swell right on our beam, all three off us were not feeling our best, considering Barney and I have worked at sea for over 50 years between us, it must have been bad. This may be one of those occasions when a catamaran isn’t the most enjoyable sail? Seasickness does wear off after a while once the body gets used to the strange motion but we were all glad to see land after 3 days. Please tune in for our next episode where we sail the next leg from Ibiza to Gibraltar to depart the Mediterranean. Follow us on social media to see what we’re up to right now. Building a New, Traditional Boat in Cornwall (working away) – cutting floor timbers from English Oak. Support; http://www.sampsonboat.co.uk/support-tally-ho Become a Patron; http://www.patreon.com/sampsonboatco ----- In this episode, I travel to the UK to visit my family and do some work for a friend in his Boatyard, to save some funds to go towards Tally Ho. In Cornwall, I cut Floor Timbers out of English Oak, to put into a new-build foot-passenger Ferry. The really interesting thing about this Ferry is that it is a real working boat - it is designed to load passengers by driving right up onto the beach (where there is a waiting tractor with some kind of gangplank). The ferry company tried using Steel and Fibreglass boats, but neither material lasted nearly as well as their older wooden boats - the steel boats would lose their paint and rust, and the Fibreglass boats just fell apart. So, when they needed replacements, they decided to go back to traditional wooden boats. Apparently the last boat that Butler & Co built for them is the fastest and most fuel-efficient boat in their fleet. Thanks for watching (and clicking the LIKE button!). Power My Home (www.powermyhome.ca) Music by Joe Bae (https://soundcloud.com/joe-bae-4) I appreciate the support, check out the Patreon for more access and perks: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon If Patreon isn't your thing, I also have a Paypal.me link: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon I've also created an Amazon Wish List if you'd like to purchase specific items I'll need as the build continues: http://a.co/dx7F4dz I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel to world. I make travel vlogs sharing my ups and downs, adventures on motorbikes, sailboats, and vans. Instagram: @Finding_Simon Snapchat: Finding_Simon Twitter: @FindingSimon Donations: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon Merchandise: http://simonstiles.com/finding-simon/ :::::::FAQ::::::: - How do you afford to travel constantly? A: I travel really cheap, free camping, cooking my own meals, being as efficient as possible. I make my income almost entirely on YouTube but it's really tight. Ad revenue, patreon, paypal donations, merchandise sales and affiliate links bring in about as much as a part time minimum wage job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough I go back to work, doing photography mostly, sometimes commercial video projects, but it takes me away from my travels and videos. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I make $200 a month from YouTube and $400 from Patreon. The rest I make from my work. - What camera do you use? Sony A7ii, DJI Mavic Pro, Rode Videomic with Deadcat, Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, DIY tripods and lights. - What is your bike? 1999 Yamaha Vstar XVS1100 with a Champion Escort sidecar. - What kind of boat is that? It's a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 - What're your plans? Fix it up, run nothing but green power, sail off into the sunset. - How do you find all these cool places? To gain access to my complete research you need to hit me up on Patreon, but here's a few sites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/ https://www.campendium.com/ http://www.atlasobscura.com/ https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - What do you do for Internet? I use coffeeshops and libraries to upload episodes a few at a time, I also use my wifi antenna (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T9lNM8Mukk&t=2s) and a data package on my phone (10GB) - How do you live on the road with a dog? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with my dog anyways, especially if it's warm out in the middle of the day. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make some decisions, avoiding places that ban dogs, and spending more time out in nature instead of in the cities. - What happened to the girl? We decided to go separate ways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgxDIXxCjY&t=4s) - Are you rich or something? definitely not. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently. If that's not an option for you there's also Instagram and Instagram stories that give you a much better idea of what I'm up to today.

Episode 12 I bought Ricky a nifty new tool belt so that I didn't have to chase after him with tools anymore. We make repairs to the underside of our deck using nida-core and some epoxy. We put in our new bulk heads in our port and starboard aft cabins. We epoxy our bathroom to make sure she's waterproof so we can install our new shower and basin. Ricky shows you guys how he prepares his calamari, since he did buy 7kg of it! We start making our floors for our foreward cabins and show you guys how we did it! Aswell as our seating area floor. We show you some of our filleting work on our joint trims, aswell as go pick up our first aid certificates which we both passed! (Guess I can save Ricky's life now) ;) Ricky also decided he thought we should start speaking Portuguese on our channel. Episode 32 - Sailing from Fiji to Vanuatu In this episode, we are back out on the open ocean again! This is Sayo, Maria and Aya's first experience of a real ocean passage. I was happy to get back out on the open ocean again. I really enjoyed this passage. Connecting to the rhythm of the ocean. The movement becomes soothing and the vastness of the horizon creates an ideal space for self-reflection and connection. Though I'm not sure Sayo and Maria felt the same way...

We attended Seattle Boat 2018! We learned a ton about diesel engines, and got a bunch of gear we need for our upcoming trip British Columbia!!! In this video, we also show some of the projects we have going on the boat: continue cleaning out bilge, new bilge pump, companionway stairs, engine maintenance, and more! We will probably make a video showing our new fancy gear we got from the boat show once its all hooked up and working. Until then, enjoy the video.
