Here's a mini-trip down the Lefkas Canal in the Greek Ionian. We've met quite a few boaters that were afraid to enter the canal. The trick is to hold back and enter as the last boat rather than the first as it can get congested before the bridge opens (entering from the North). The s/v Element crew visit the Island of Delos, Greece. This is our first video compilation with music only, to be accompanied with our upcoming video of Mykonos, Greece. Sorry, there is no narration on this one, and it was my first compilation using the GoPro video editing software with a preset template. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- If you would like to see the latest Sailing Catamaran Element uploaded video, Please watch: "Sailing Catamaran Element: Possessed by the Pools of Pamukkale, Turkey (Ep.16)" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxlK90yJN7o -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-
The chain ran away from me and I let 69 metres go... Lifting anchor was excruciating!.. I'm glad I was diligent in choosing a good anchorage with land to windward all night

I head up to check on Obelix for the first time after getting back from the US. In this video, I talk about the five projects/tasks I want to get out of the way before moving aboard the boat. The house still hasn't been sold but I'm so excited to become a full-time liveaboard! Fingers crossed the house will sell soon! Zionel the mechanic returns and fits our reconditioned gear box and new damping plate. Whilst he is doing this we isolate the power and the solar panels to the batteries so that when he leaves Liz can tend to her job of checking the batteries. After a few hours of boat maintenance we take the rest of the afternoon off and go for a drive. The row of shops and restaurants to the north of Telaga marina have a certain continental feel to them, especially as the bakery does fantastic pastries. We wander down to Mare Blu and take a seat looking out across the bay. Just up the road from Telaga is the baffling named... Pantai Kok. Heading further north still, past the famous cable car, are the Seven Wells. This is a trek up the mountain to a fresh water bathing station, but first we have to sit out the rain. The rain continues so we buy a couple of umbrellas and make our way up the concrete steps to the Seven Wells (not the seven waterfalls, stupid). By the time we get there, the rain has stopped. Much to the distress of the general public Jamie slips on his trunks and takes a dip in one of the pools. Over the years the constant stream of water has smoothed the rock faces and created gulleys that allow visitors to slip and slide down into the pools beneath. Not wanting to miss out, I strippped to my underwear and joined Jamie in the fun On the way back from the Seven Wells, in between Pantai Kok and Kuala Periang is a little fishing village we like to pop in to from time to time. We climb the little footbridge to take in the views. Our final stop before heading back to the boat is Legenda Park, situated between Kuah's main mosque and the jetty. This manicured treasure is under-rated, perhaps because most people don't like to be out in the midday sun, yet there are many covered walkways to perambulate. The park has some interesting and sometimes amusing water features and a large part of the park is put aside for swings and slides, so it's a great place to bring the kids. For the adults there's plenty of flora to discover. We return to the park in the evening and catch all kinds of creatures lit up by coloured lights in the trees. Enough swanning around Langkawi. It's about time we left, but have we had any luck with that damn engine? ****************************** Show some love for our musical contributors :) 00:00 - Followtheboat's theme music: 'Suddenly' by Otis McDonald https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y66Dh5lx4qY 05:09 - 'Chill Out Groove' by DL-Sounds http://www.dl-sounds.com 06:49 - 'Everything (no samples edit) ' by Rataxes https://soundcloud.com/rataxesuk 19:27- 'Bird Paradise' by DL Sounds http://www.dl-sounds.com
Some friends and I went sailing on my Trident 80 from 1979. It was a great day. It was the fist time they were on a sailboat, helping to trim the sails.
small waves, but a lot of fun at Risco del Paso, Fuerteventura
This how to video goes over how to uninstall the horrible manual pumping head in a boat with an electric flushing head. In this case, we even hooked it up to the fresh water to really keep any odors down. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "How to repair a wooden mast, boom, spar or Bulkhead (Step by Step) " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Nxr-yxUjvQ -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

Pretty much as the title suggests. A short film showing how we made our own Lazy Jacks and fitted them to Rowena, our Red Fox.
