The 49er/FX European Championships finished with Nathan Outteridge & Iain Jensen just missing out of the podium by two points. David Gilmour & Rhys Mara finished the regatta in 18th. Joel Turner & Lewis Brake had a strong last day including a 1st & 3rd to finish Silver Fleet in 6th (31st overall). Will Phillips & James Wierzbowski finished up in 60th. Temporary 49erFX pairing, Haylee Outteridge & Caitlin Elks, ended up finishing in 19th overall. Since Bryan Ehrhart’s Lucky secured line honors in the Transatlantic Race yesterday afternoon (English time). They also arrived in Cowes Isle of Wight at lunchtime today locally, the Royal Yacht Squadron firing a gun to salute the Transatlantic Sailors. Second across the famous Castle line was Nomad IV, Clarke Murphy’s 100ft Maltese flagged yacht that suffered hydraulic failure during the race, meaning water ballast, sail hoist and controls all had to be manned by the crew’s own strength only. At present Lucky holds the lead in the Transatlantic Race 2015 under IRC handicap, but the title remains under threat from boats yet to finish. Similarly, her impressive course time is likely to be bettered by the maxis which started four days after her. The Transatlantic Race 2015 is a 2,800-mile race from Newport, R.I., to The Lizard on the southwestern corner of England. This is the 30th transatlantic race since three New York Yacht Club members sponsored the first one in 1866. A fleet of 38 boats—ranging in size from 40 to 140 feet and in age from 100 years to 10 months—departed from Newport in one of three different starts (June 28, July 1 and July 5). #tr2015

Watch Reef Guardians member Jerry Blair remove 6 Lionfish off one small area at Cooper Island BVI. You can hardly believe the amount of fish life down there in this small area. Really goes to show you that mooring fields work magic with regards to the fish life and preserving their natural environment.
