Almost all of our listings now include a video shoot; seller’s love it and buyers, after spending just a few minutes watching online, can get a real feel for the boat. We do things our way, which is a lot different than most other yacht brokers. You’ve seen them, the all too common video “walk through” where production consists of combining music to footage shot using an unsteady phone in the hands of a broker who is not paying attention to lighting, clutter and the surroundings. We want you to feel invited aboard and talk to you as if you are right there with us. Using this approach, we take time to point out features and wander through the boat to show you the space, access and layout. we call our listing promotional videos, #TalkThroughTours. The first few years of our YouTube channel featured Jeff doing all of the talking, but our individual brokers are getting in on the filming action now and it has become a lot more entertaining for everyone. Our clients love that they get to “meet” the brokers offering the listings and quickly see that our team knows what they are talking about. We take the extra time and expense to give you a realistic presentation so that you know what each boat is all about before you send us an email or pick up the phone to schedule your own appointment to get aboard. The JMYS You Tube channel in the early days did start out just shooting listings. After selling a trawler that was featured in a listing video, we add SOLD and kept them published as a resource for trawler fans. As we got more comfortable with the process of video and purchased the appropriate gear to improve our production, we started branching out. With a slippery hull, hard chines and a deep rudder, the Dufour 500 GL is a practical cruiser designed with performance in mind. On Carpe Diem we see a very well specified and proven example. The large twin wheel cockpit is practical and innovative. There is a large boarding / swim platform, and the centre seat which opens up to reveal an inbuilt cockpit grill or BBQ. The massive under cockpit area reveals the generator with excellent access. Further storage areas allow for the life raft. The port side cockpit seat folds to make a double day bed. A cockpit fridge is installed within the table. The side decks are wide and safe. The anchor roller is retractable neatly stowing the anchor away from mooring or sailing lines. The below deck furler adds to the yachts stunning lines and increases sail size. A dedicated storage / sail locker is located at the bow. Three or the full six winches are electric (genoa and halyard) and the genoa winches are located aft of the helms making short handled sailing easy. Down below the innovative features continue with the galley being located forward of the saloon. The navigation table and seat adjust by angle to allow comfort when sailing. The large saloon table folds to become a double. The large owner’s suite with island berth is forward and includes fully separate head and shower spaces. Two large adult double cabins lie aft. A second large day head is to port and a dedicated utility room is to starboard with washer / dryer and freezer. The cruising package is extensive with water maker, generator, a targa bar housing the solar panels and dinghy davits, plus serious refrigeration and freezer capacity. The sail wardrobe includes working sails by Elvstrom – main, genoa and staysail (the staysail is removable and includes it’s own separate furler. Two spinnakers are included including the asymmetric Multi Purpose Spinnaker flown off the retractable bow sprit. Electronics are by are by Raymarine and include auto-pilot.
