This boat came with a propane stove and oven but the owner wanted something less complicated, more compact and safer. So we're swapping it out for a two burner Origo non-pressurized alcohol stove. It won't have an oven but if the owner wants one he can use the Swedish Omnia stovetop oven pan for baking. The Origo stove is no longer produced but they often come up for sale on ebay. If you see a brand that looks similar called Cookmate, it's an exact copy of the Origo so no reason not to get it. We both sold up and headed out to sea, with the goal of sailing around the world via Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope. We brought our mixed rescue dog along with us as she loves sailing and swimming too! Our boat is a year 2000 J Boats J/46. We searched for 3 years for our perfect sailboat for sale, when we found it, we knew it was the one. We spent 6 months re-fitting it in Rhode Island and then went for our shakedown voyage in Maine. We stopped in Annapolis for a bit to do some more refit work and offshore modifications, then we set off to the open sea. We went to the Bahamas, Miami, US Virgin Islands, BVI, Grenada, Carriacou, St. Maarten, where we enjoyed outdoor adventures, scuba diving, and have now did an Atlantic Crossing to the Azores where we had a chance to fly our DJI drone (and learned how to fly a drone from a boat) and one of our favorite past times, mountain biking. We have sailed over 10,000 bluewater miles to date. We watched other sailing channels before we left as well. We even considered van life, a tiny home, or a motorhome / rv. Some of the channels we enjoyed were Gone with the Wynns, Project Atticus, and MJ Sailing. We didn't really set out to be influencers, but we wanted to return the good karma and pass our inspiration and knowledge along. Heute geht es um die Wartung der Winschen. Unsere Lagoon 40 MariaNoa hat insgesamt 5 Winschen. Achtern zwei Winschen über die der Parasailor gefahren wird. Am Steuerstand sowohl eine mechanische als auch eine elektrische Winsch. Hier ein Kompliment an die Designer des Katamarans. Die beiden Winschen sind so klug angeordnet, dass diverse Kombinationen sowie Umlenkungen möglich sind. Die fünfte Winsch ist die Ankerwinsch. Somit haben wir drei identische selbstholende 2-Gang Winschen von Harken in der Größe 40. Die elektrische Winsch ist nahezu baugleich. Einmal im Jahr müssen diese Winschen gewartet werden. D.h. zerlegt, gereinigt und neu gefettet werden. Da wir jetzt ein Jahr unterwegs sind, sind diese Wartungsarbeiten überfällig. Habt Ihr konkrete Fragen? Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. We both sold up and headed out to sea, with the goal of sailing around the world via Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope. We brought our mixed rescue dog along with us as she loves sailing and swimming too! Our boat is a year 2000 J Boats J/46. We searched for 3 years for our perfect sailboat for sale, when we found it, we knew it was the one. We spent 6 months re-fitting it in Rhode Island and then went for our shakedown voyage in Maine. We stopped in Annapolis for a bit to do some more refit work and offshore modifications, then we set off to the open sea. We went to the Bahamas, Miami, US Virgin Islands, BVI, Grenada, Carriacou, St. Maarten, where we enjoyed outdoor adventures, scuba diving, and have now did an Atlantic Crossing to the Azores where we had a chance to fly our DJI drone (and learned how to fly a drone from a boat) and one of our favorite past times, mountain biking. We have sailed over 10,000 bluewater miles to date. We watched other sailing channels before we left as well. We even considered van life, a tiny home, or a motorhome / rv. Some of the channels we enjoyed were Gone with the Wynns, Project Atticus, and MJ Sailing. We didn't really set out to be influencers, but we wanted to return the good karma and pass our inspiration and knowledge along. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Plan International ist ein internationales Kinderhilfswerk. Without wishing to reveal too much at the preview, the builder was kind enough to tell us the name of this catamaran – the Aura 51. Like a certain Athena 38 launched in 1994, the Aura 51 does not have an island name... but keeps an “a” at the end. The first example has lines very much in keeping with the latest Berret/Racoupeau designed catamarans such as the Samana 59. The superstructure is refined, the bows inverted and the sail plan powerful – this is necessary to compensate for the increased displacement. The builder has also kept the double sail maneuvering station/helm at mid-height. As for the innovations to be found aboard, there’s a very large opening between the nacelle and the cockpit with the galley unit going through to the external part, and the possibility of installing 2,000 Wp of solar panels. The Aura 51 underwent seatrials during a winter sailing trip in Brittany - an opportunity for the shipyard to record average speeds often exceeding 10 knots in good breezes and to organize an original photo shoot even though the water temperature was chilly... Highly anticipated on the market, the Aura 51 will undoubtedly be the main competitor to the Lagoon 51. Take a tour of the 2005 Lagoon 380 S2 Owners Version "No ka 'Oi" currently offered for sale by The Multihull Company. The Lagoon 380 S2, owner’s version (3 cabins/2 heads) catamaran is a very comfortable, livable and manageable yacht. The owner cabin is in the starboard hull with a full bath forward, a large queen berth aft and desk and storage lockers in between.
