Elements of Life is a 1983 Trisalu 37 aluminum cutter, that was build in Quebec. We purchased her in the fall of 2014, after she'd been sitting abandoned in a boat yard in Florida for over 10 years. After sailing from the Azores, where we had been sitting when we bought her, we were able to see her for the first time in person in 2015, and moved her from storage to a work yard to begin a complete refit. Over the course of 2.5 years, we stripped this boat down to bare frames, and built her back out again, with the vision of her being the perfect cruising boat. Everything in this boat, including the overhead, ceiling, floors, and all of the furniture, was built by the two of us. Fun bonus, we lived on the boat during the entire refit process. She is currently set up as the perfect cruising boat for a couple, with a good sized galley, two main seating areas, a quarter berth (which we use for storage) and a murphy style bed for the v-berth which folds down into the forward salon as a queen size bed. So far we have sailed her through the Caribbean, across the Atlantic Ocean, spent a wonderful 9 months with her in the Azores, and spent 2019 bringing her to the Arctic (via Norway) and down the coast of Scotland and England, where she is currently sitting. Wir sind zurück! Anderthalb Wochen Überführungstörn von Emden nach Heiligenhafen und das anschließende Pfingstwochenende mit einem Abstecher nach Kühlungsborn liegen hinter uns. Es ging durch alle drei Bundesländer am Meer mit ihren eigenen und doch ähnlichen Corona-Beschränkungen. Die auch andernorts üblichen Abstands- und Hygieneregeln waren natürlich auch in den Häfen einzuhalten. Teilweise galt Maskenpflicht auf dem Steg oder sogar auf dem gesamten Hafengelände, unabhängig von anwesenden Personen. In geschlossenen Räumen sowieso. Wir waren gut vorbereitet, hatten uns vor dem Törn über die jeweiligen lokalen Regeln informiert und uns auch während des Törns auf dem Laufenden gehalten – das war auch gut so! Im Endeffekt gab es zwei Faktoren, die das Segeln in diesen Zeiten, neben Wind und Tide, bestimmt haben: Das in einigen Häfen notwendige Voranmelden der Anreise und die Sperrung der Waschräume in Niedersachsen und Schleswig-Holstein. Unsere Reise führte uns von Emden über Borkum und Wangerooge nach Cuxhaven. Von dort durch den Nord-Ostsee-Kanal nach Kiel, Heiligenhafen und schließlich bis nach Kühlungsborn und Fehmarn. A full tour of our Lagoon 42 Catamaran as we sailed it around the Seychelles Islands. We begin with a 360 degree view around the outside, and then continue with the inside, including the 'skippers cabin'! For us it was a first to sail sleep and socialize on a sailboat and Sailing Catamaran, so forgive my extreme excitement detailing every part of our boat and journey! In the Seychelles we sailed fro Mahe to st Anne Marine Park, on to La Digue, Petite and Grande Anse, on to Felicité, then Praslin, Curieuse, more Praslin, passing by Cousin and Cousine Islands to then round back to Beau Vallon for the day. Moonen 85 for sale. As one of Moonen’s “pocket superyachts”, she has a reputation for seaworthiness, comfort and style. Her canoe stern and flared bow make her a safe worldwide cruiser. She cruised extensively, under all weather conditions. She provides comfortable cruising for up to 8 guests in owners cabin and two guest cabins as well as an entirely separated crew area with two crew cabins and a crew mess. The interior is well made in pear wood by Struik and Hamerslag (the Feadship interior subcontractors) in a very classic Dutch style. Special attention is given to the sound and vibration insulation.
