Our sail from Freeport started off with surfing down some 6-7 foot steep waves which Cory has a blast doing. On the other hand I was feeding the fish. Fortunately we found shelter at Ginn Sur Mer near West End and along with SV Spirit Bird and SV Turned Out we dropped anchor. The following day despite the strong 25-30 knots Easterly wind we left our anchorage unaccompanied this time. As we rounded West End on Great Bahama Island we realized that the waves wouldn't be too bad. It was all about timing with high tide to navigate the shallow Indian Cut. This was our shortcut to the Little Bahama Bank which we had to cross to reach the Abacos. East winds made for an absurd amount of tacks and extra Nautical miles covered because that's exactly where we needed to go. We ended up setting anchor by Mangrove Cay for one night. The next day we stopped at Great Sale Cay and enjoyed it to ourselves. Filmed March 2021. In today's episode of MARINADE: Meat Free Monday Edition we welcome Sunreef Yachts' Sales Department. The team will be making Roasted sweet potato salad with chickpeas and honey mustard sauce. Together with Sunreef Yachts Eco brand ambassador Nico Rosberg, the company is taking part in a wonderful initiative launched by Paul McCartney that encourages people worldwide to reduce meat consumption to help the environment and have a healthier lifestyle. If you feel inspired, prepare this dish yourself at home using the recipe below: Roasted sweet potato salad with chickpeas and honey mustard sauce (4 portions): - 3 mini romaine lettuce - 2 red chicory - 2 sweet potatoes - 1 can of chickpeas - 4 figs - 300 g of cherry tomatoes - 1 bunch of fresh coriander - 80 ml of honey - 80 ml of olive oil - 80 ml of lemon juice - 80 ml of mustard - 1 clove of garlic - Salt, pepper Marinate the sweet potato in olive oil and wrap it in aluminum foil. Bake at 180°C until the potato is soft in the middle. Let it cool down. Peel the potato and cut into cubes. Mix with chickpeas and season with salt and pepper. Use honey, mustard, lemon juice and olive oil to make a honey mustard sauce. Season it with salt and pepper. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and the figs into 6 pieces. Place the lettuce leaves alternately with the chicory. Place the sweet potato with chickpeas, tomatoes and figs on top. Pour the honey mustard dressing over the salad. Sprinkle with coriander. Voilà!

Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. With twin 100 HP motors and a laden displacement of 20,500 lbs (9.3 tonnes), the C-Cat 40 Power Fish is capable of reaching 15 knots, compared to 11 for the 40 MY. At cruising speed, consumption can be kept to less than one liter (just over a quart) per mile. The interior is complete even though the nacelle is somewhat cramped - the cockpit can be added to the space, however, since it can be completely closed in. The flybridge is raised up on an aluminum structure so that deep-sea fishing enthusiasts can scan the water in with the best conditions. And at the back of the cockpit, there are rod holders of course! ** NOW SOLD ** Caroline is a 2001 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37 listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Pittwater. This mid-sized production yacht from one of the very top global brands is a serious all rounder. Caroline is a three double cabin layout with very comfortable living space and a good sized cockpit. There is a practical galley with a deep fridge, dedicated nav station, large saloon seating and additional settee opposite, big owners cabin forward, two double aft cabins and a generous enclosed head and shower (with electric toilet and holding tank). The cockpit is a familiar modern design that simply works; there is an integrated boarding or swim step which leads to the lowerable helm seat which gives easy access to the cockpit. There is a BBQ and out board storage capability on the pushpit. Headsail winches are easily reached by the helm as are all instruments including plotter and auto-pilot which are mounted in the steering pedestal. Cockpit storage is massive and the area is protected by the bimini (with new mounted solar panels) plus the dodger. There are three headsails, a gennaker (with Seldon gennaker pole both 2016) and the mainsail which is easily packed away in the boom bag with lazy jacks. Caroline is powered by a Yanmar 30 shaft drive. There is a 200W solar panel neatly mounted on the bimini (2017). Was für ein großes Abenteuer! Brigitta und ich sind zu unserer ersten mehrtägigen Langfahrt gestartet. Dieser zweite Film zeigt die besonderen Herausforderungen des dritten und des vierten Tages sowie natürlich der Nächte. ▬ Über diesen Film ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Wir sind vom Puerto de la Estaca, El Hierro auf den Kanarischen Inseln nach Mindelo, Sao Vicente auf den Kapverden gesegelt. 6 Tage und 5 Stunden hat dieser für uns bisher längste Törn letztendlich gedauert. Wir hatten Flaute und sind motort, sind mit unserem Parasailor bzw. einer Schmetterlingsbesegelung platt vorm Wind oder auf raumen Kursen gesegelt. Es geht um Segelmanöver, Wacheinteilung, Alltagsbeschäftigung und selbstkritische Lernprozesse. Ergänzt werden die Segelimpressionen durch Rückblicke auf unsere Zeit auf der wunderschönen Insel El Hierro. Im Frühjahr dieses Jahrs erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Our best of all worlds kayak hull that is designed and and proven in all conditions all around the world! The Outback has a long and proud history but has been reimagined and redesigned many times to keep it's edge as the leader. Follow along as Morgan Promnitz covers all the amazing features, explains some of the history and compares the outback to some of its competition. Each year Hobie has always looked to pack the Outback with all the best features while keeping the hull weight and size manageable. Powered by the award winning MirageDrive 180 with Kick-up Turbo length fins. Equally as powerful forward and in reverse! The Kick-Up fins work just like before while under power but in the event you hit an obstacle underwater the fins fold back and out of the way, once you pedal they drive back forward and into position again. The Turbo length fins are our longest and largest fins and power the Outback along with incredible efficiency. While you pedal you're supported by the Vantage CTW seatback, this is an amazing seat loaded with adjustments and features but the "W" stands for the extra width that is unique to the Outback and offers a bit wider seat bottom for maximizing comfort and fitting all users. The entire height of the seatback is adjustable on both the front edge and back edge with a number of variation so anyone can find the best angle and posture while enjoying the water. We included a lumbar adjustment the utilizes a BOA ratchet. The seating surfaces are built using a 3D mesh that is very supportive but also breathable to keep you cool and dry. Gear storage is maximized in the Outback with large hatches, gear cutouts on the sides of the cockpit and also the sides of the cargo area. Complete with H-Rail mounting surfaces, Gear tracks, Gear pockets, cutout of tools, numerous attachment points and bungees galore to handle all sorts of rigging configurations. The rudder that steers the hull is tucked under the back for safety, can be controlled from either of the dual steering handles so no matter what arm you prefer to use to cast you'll have the other to control direction. Hobie Guardian is the name for our Retractable Transducer mounting area on the bottom side of the hull. Guardian was designed to be the most ideal way to mount a side imaging sonar or fish finder, from a control in the cockpit you can retract the transducer up safety into the hull while beaching but then drop it back below the hull so it can scan to the sides. The rudder kicks up and folds back down into place automatically. Multiple moulded in rod holders, tackle storage, grab handles, cup holders and multiple through-hull scuppers as drain points that double as mounts for our plug-in beach carts. The Outback also comes with a loading device that clips onto the rear loading handle and makes solo loading of the hull onto your car top so much easier! Narrower and lighter than most of its competitors, it manages to significantly limit its fuel consumption. Turkey's boatbuilding industry has a long history and can boast some significant expertise - not dissimilar to Polish shipbuilding know-how... so it's not surprising that a direct competitor of Sunreef, the undisputed leader in semi-custom luxury catamarans, is presenting a multiyacht recently built in Istanbul. But unlike Sunreefs, which are built in composite, the Vision F80 is therefore aluminum. On the foredeck, a crane can be used to launch the RIB, freeing up the aft platform.
