Esta reformado por dentro y por fuera por mí mismo con la inestimable ayuda de José Muñoz. Cuando lo compre estaba muy abandonado en cuanto a mantenimiento y mejoras. Pero ojo....su antiguo propietario cruzo tres veces el Océano Atlántico en solitario con este velero de menos de diez metros. Acompáñame en este video y veras como los barcos aunque tengan cuarenta años pueden estar en perfecto estado de conservación si ponemos esfuerzo, trabajo y cariño. Os contaré un poco sobre la historia de este modelo. Se hizo muy famoso tras la trágica regata Fastnet de 1979. En esta regata cruzaron la línea de salida 303 barcos de diferentes modelos y esloras, solo 86 terminaron. Por desgracia hubo 19 muertes, a pesar de las más de 4.000 personas que se movilizaron, ejército, salvamento marítimo, etc… para rescatar a los tripulantes de barcos hundidos o abandonados. Las predicciones meteorológicas anunciaron para esta regata vientos de fuerza 6, pudiendo subir a 7 de la escala Beaufort. Por lo visto llegaron a soplar vientos de fuerza 11 (56 a 63 nudos), esto es un temporal muy duro casi huracanado, vamos un desastre para cualquier barco. ESTE MODELO FUE EL ÚNICO DE SU CLASE QUE TERMINO LA REGATA. A partir de ahí, sus cualidades marineras para ganar regatas y soportar temporales se hicieron muy famosas. Para los Ingleses es un barco de culto, de hecho tienen una clase muy bien organizada con su campeonato nacional de regatas con este modelo, además de un foro, página de Facebook, etc... Delivered in 1952 at Uljanik shipyard in Pula, Croatia, SEAGULL II is an important part of yachting history. Part of the "Six Poets" series by the Croatian shipyard, her name comes from Croatian author Vladimir Nazor. Initially used as a cruised ship, in 2004-2005 she saw a major rebuild that transformed her into a luxury motor yacht.
