We had a very nice experience during FLIBS 2022. Sofi Yacht Team inspected more than 100 boats during The Show. Over 1000 exhibiting brands and with more than 100.000 Boat Show attendess, it was a succesfull show also for Sofi Yacht in aspect of our client's expectation. What we did during The Show? We set up some visits for the boats we select together with our clients both for charter and sale. Visiting a yacht for charter, some of the most important things are that the boat has the same performance comparing the photos, the crew is well equipped in aspect of service and the other dynamics of charter boats. The boats for sale, we mostly made our decision if the boats we selected were the right boats or not. We explored new yachts / brands, boat sales reps, manufacturers and other marine professionals. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Originally built as a tug boat in 1964, VERVECE accomplished a two-year major refit in 2015 which was a complex and fascinating project, almost unique for this type of vessel. The idea was to build a ship capable of satisfying guests with the desire to experience yachting without limits, by preserving the original characteristics of a tug vessel. Navaldesign & Consulting developed 3D design drawings, Moroso Starita studio engineered hull structural drawings and produced stability calculation. Interior designers Ida Penta and Francesco Scardaccione were responsible for the interior layout optimization and interior design. The original engines were replaced by 2 new Cummins engines that guarantee maximum comfort for guests and the best optimisation of fuel consumption. The engine room in the aft was re-engineered and equipped with modern machinery and equipment. This allowed reducing the engine room’s length to the advantage of guest cabins space. lnsulation and soundproofing were the main requirements of the conversion. The exterior was equally a subject of substantial work. The main and upper decks were covered with good-quality teak. The air conditioning system was designed to work in extreme weather conditions, from 50°C to -45°C, allowing the custom choice of temperature and ventilation in each cabin. It wasn't until we were onboard that I found out they have now switched their whole range to a twin ruddered configuration. I suppose the fact Oyster have always been synonymous with top end luxury boats means they would be tempted to follow the lead of other brands who are going all out to maximise interior space and produce a boat that values having settees next to the king sized bed in the aft cabin above actual sailing ability! As you might guess, I gave the salesman a bit of a hard time!
