We look at a Jeanneau Sun Fizz liveaboard cruiser. This sailboat that is a bit closer to home and slightly larger with 3 cabins. Though I am not a big fan of the fin rudder we have to make sacrifices when boat shopping. This particular boat is set up to be powered at anchor. The family had it for 10 years 3 of which they cruised the Caribbean to Guatemala. This is a very thorough boat tour the ins and outs of this particular vessel. You can visibly see how excited we are to be taking this boat tour. I had been looking at this boat for months and even tried to see it in march while it still had snow on it. I had given up on this boat because the owner didn't seem motivated to sell and wanted to keep it another year. The boat is a really great bang for the buck especially because it would be imported and we would get a good exchange rate. However there is another SUN fizz on the market that has new rig and engine for less money BUT its a shole draft keel. Which is great in the Bahamas but not beating upwind doing the thorny path.

In Santa Marta leben ca. 500.000 Einwohner, in der Metropolregion 830.000 Menschen. Santa Marta liegt an der Karibikküste Kolumbiens, knapp 1.000 km von Bogotá entfernt. Südöstlich vom städtischen Teil hat die Gemeinde einen Anteil an der Sierra Nevada mit den höchsten Bergen Kolumbiens. Mit einer Höhe von jeweils 5775 Metern liegt auch aktuell auf ihren Gipfeln Schnee. In der Sierra Nevada auf dem Gemeindegebiet befindet sich die Ruinenstadt Ciudad Perdida von der in einem separaten Film berichtet wird. Im Osten der Gemeinde befindet sich der Nationalpark Tayrona den wir in diesem Film besuchen. Der Reiz der Landschaft liegt einerseits in der Karibik mit ihrem warmen Wasser und den Korallenriffen direkt am Strand und andererseits an den schneebedeckten Gipfeln der Sierra Nevada. Vor der Ankunft der Europäer war der südamerikanische Kontinent von einer Reihe von indigenen Gruppen bewohnt. Aufgrund einer Kombination aus tropischem Wetter, erheblichen Niederschlägen und der Zerstörung und Verfälschung vieler Aufzeichnungen durch spanische Konquistadoren ist unser Verständnis der Völker dieser Region begrenzt. We continue the drive from Annapolis down to Georgia to look at a Jeanneau Gin Fizz. The Same boat model Laura dekker circumnavigated in when she was 16! Though her sailboat was in much better condition when she made her epic voyage.. We have been wanting to do a boat tour of this Gin fizz for a while we had actually placed an offer but in hind sight we are glad we came to look at in person. Ideal for shallow waters, she features a deep, efficient centerboard that increases draft to 11'-4" when lowered. Built in 1988 and commissioned in 1989 BLUE STAR has only had two owners, the first for 15 years and the current owners for the past 17. Her second owner has kept her maintained by the same boat yard, the same engineer, and the same varnish / cosmetics expertise. She's never been chartered, and is kept in her own private slip in Oxford, MD on the Chesapeake Bay when in season. Dafür haben wir uns einen Katamaran gekauft, mit dem wir Anfang März 2021 von der französischen Atlantikküste auf die Barfußroute gestartet sind. Seit vielen Jahren war eine Weltumsegelung mein (Hannes) großer Traum, den ich berufsbedingt zum Renteneintrittsalter verwirklichen wollte. Manchmal kommt das Leben aber anders als man plant. Im Frühjahr 2020 erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich.
