Si trova infatti a poco più di 30 miglia da Ustica, e la prima tappa delle isole Eolie è a 50 miglia. Palermo dista 30 miglia da Cefalù, e da Cefalù le Eolie distano circa 35 miglia.

La pittoresca baia della Marina Corricella è un'esplosione di colori: i suoi pescherecci, e le caratteristiche case dell'architettura mediterranea fanno di essa uno dei luoghi più fotografati nel mondo. Terra Murata è la parte più antica dell'isola da esplorare con una piacevole passeggiata a piedi.

Domina il mare blu limpido e cristallino con spiagge di sabbia bianca e bellissime formazioni rocciose. Le valli sono fertili e ricche di alberi da frutta, agrumi ed orti. Tropea ha un interessante profilo storico ed artistico. Ci sono dei bellissimi affreschi nelle numerose chiese antiche. La città ha ben conservato il suo piano della città del XVI secolo. Luoghi di interesse sono Porta Nuova, il Santuario di Santa Maria dell'isola, ed il Museo dei Mestieri Tradizionali della Calabria. Le Isole Eolie distano solamente 30 miglia da Tropea. La nostra base di Tropea è il punto di partenza ideale per visitare le isole Eolie. Si trova infatti a circa 40 miglia da esse.

The Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships will take place in Fremantle, Western Australia for the ten events of the Olympic Sailing Competition. Racing is scheduled to take place from 3 to 18 December. As well as hosting the battle for World Championship glory, Perth 2011 is the principal qualification regatta for the sailing events at the London 2012 Olympic Games where 75% of the national places will be decided. The nine fleet racing events will all sail an opening series before the top ten in each event contest a double-points Medal Race to decide the final positions. The Medal Races have a target time of approximately 30 minutes and will take place close to the shore to allow spectators ashore to get close up to the action.
