In 2014 Ed completed an 18 month circumnavigation with his father, and I (Paige) got to tag along for most of the Pacific🙌🏻. Following Ed's return we knew we would do whatever it took to get back on the water, this time in our own boat, together. So, after nearly 5 years of planning, saving, and questioning our sanity, we quit our jobs in 2019 and sold most of our non-essential/non-heartfelt belongings. We've decided to spend the next few years dedicating ourselves to travel and adventure while living aboard our 37 foot home, Sea Pearl. Navegar a vela es lo que más me gusta. Pero cuando navego a bordo de un Volvo Ocean Race, es la máxima experiencia náutica que puede vivir en el mar. Este lunes día 4 de diciembre saldremos del puerto de Adra, en la provincia de Almería con rumbo a Lanzarote. Pasaremos el mítico estrecho de Gibraltar. We didn’t know that Samos wine is to Greece what, for example, Champagne is to France or Port is to Portugal: the signature, iconic alcoholic drink! So there are plenty of wineries. But our harbor master tipped us off about a small winery producing organic Samos wine. We set off for the eastern part of the island and rented a car for the trip. The winery, Hatziioannou Estate, is located in a beautiful spot in the green hills on the east side of Samos, naturally surrounded by vineyards. They are exclusively dedicated to the production of high-quality organic wines. We received a warm welcome and were invited to sit at a large table overlooking the tanks and wine barrels. The inspiring owner shared his story with us, explaining how he started the winery together with his wife and sons.
