Unir desporto e turismo será estratégia de combate à sazonalidade | Vilamoura Sailing

Ontem nós recebemos a visita do Secretário de Estado da Juventude e Desporto no Centro Internacional de Vela Vilamoura Sailing. O projeto colocou Portugal no epicentro dos grandes eventos internacionais de vela e que traz a Vilamoura centenas de velejadores em todos os invernos. Foram 56 países, 3 000 atletas, mais de 4 000 acompanhantes, perto de 200 000 dormidas. Tudo em 2021/2022. A visita acontece no âmbito das comemorações do Dia Internacional da Juventude que se celebra anualmente no dia 12 de agosto. Em pleno Boat Park da Marina de Vilamoura, João Paulo Correia teve oportunidade de assistir à chegada do mar de velejadores de todo o mundo que nesta altura se preparam para os campeonatos mundiais da classe Laser/Ilca (Ilca 4 e Ilca U21) que começam em Vilamoura, já dia 13 de agosto. Segundo o Secretário de Estado da Juventude e Desporto este é o ano em que Portugal regista o maior número de eventos desportivos internacionais, atingindo as 4 centenas, o que contribui para que o país seja cada vez mais um destino para seleções, clubes e atletas de todo o mundo. The project has placed Portugal at the epicenter of major international sailing events and attracts hundreds of sailors to Vilamoura every winter. There were 56 countries, 3,000 athletes, more than 4,000 companions, and close to 200,000 overnight stays. All in 2021/2022. The visit takes place as part of the celebrations of International Youth Day, which is celebrated annually on August 12th.
