Join the adventurous crew on this 2 weeks adventure, dodge gale after gale along the Irish Atlantic west coast aka The wild Atlantic way. Starting from Galway, the crew sailed Saga, a classic Swan47, overnight to Blacksod Bay. The crew sheltered two days at Blacksod, - the local fishermen were taking good care of us, making sure that we had supplies. We had winds in excess of 50 kts. After Blacksod, we head further north across Donegal bay, to Melmore Head, where we again had to shelter for 2 nights due to Gale for e 9 winds. From Melmore Head it was a fast sail up to Portrush before Ireland was hit by another gale, this time from the south. After two day of exploring the country side around the Giant’s causeway and the coastal causeway trial, the crew set sail for Ballycastle and onwards around the Mull of Kintyre. Back in the Clyde we stopped at Campbellltown Loch and Tarbert marina, before reaching our final destination Largs yacht Haven. What an adventure: 360 nm, 14 days and 4 gales. We loved it so much, that we are going back for a full spring season to explore the many Loch and little villages along the west of Ireland. #sailireland #adventure #gale #heavyweather #offshoresailing #wild #atlanticocean #wildatlanticway #sailing #dingle #galway #exploremore #swan47
