Simple Route Planning using PredictWind, OpenCPN, Navionics, and TZ iBoat. This is a short episode to illustrate how I use PredictWind with other charting and navigation apps including OpenCPN on the MacBook plus Navionics and TZ iBoat on the iPhone. PredictWind calculates and recommends routes based on multiple weather models (e.g. GFS, EMCWF, PWG, PWE) and incorporates your boat's polars (sailing performance characteristics). The PredictWind route can be exported for a selected weather model.
