Could The Blue Corridor Become Yachting’s Next Great Route?

For more information about the Blue Corridor: LOS ROQUES: https://www.yachtservicelosroques.com/ (Alejandro Linares) GALAPAGOS: https://superyachtgalapagos.live/ (Ricardo Arenas) Los Roques is one of the most extraordinary places I have ever visited — an archipelago off the coast of Venezuela made up of pristine islands, coral reefs, white sand and some of the clearest water I have seen anywhere in the Caribbean. But this film is about much more than a beautiful destination. I travelled to Los Roques at the invitation of Alejandro Linares of Yacht Service Los Roques, who together with Ricardo Arenas of Superyacht Galápagos has developed what they call The Blue Corridor: a supported route for superyachts travelling from Los Roques, through Panama and eventually on to the Galápagos Islands. Over five days in Los Roques I experienced the area in much the same way that a visiting yacht owner or charter guest could — snorkelling, fishing, diving, paddle boarding, kite surfing, visiting remote islands and enjoying some extraordinary local food. I also saw first-hand how important local knowledge is in an environmentally protected national park where yacht movements and activities need to be carefully organised. The journey then continued to Canaima, deep in Venezuela, where we travelled by private aircraft and helicopter to experience one of the most spectacular landscapes I have ever seen — including Angel Falls. This film is my introduction to The Blue Corridor and to a part of the world that I believe deserves far more attention from the superyacht community.
