Sailing to Hen Rock, Catalina Island (March 2021)

In this episode, Debbie and I have an epic sail to Hen Rock, Catalina Island. Debbie has been prone to seasickness in the past, so we put her Relief Band to the test. Winds start to build and we practice reducing canvas for a smooth ride. We opt to pick up a mooring due to the small craft advisory and forecast wind change overnight that would have us anchoring against a lee shore. We fumble around and the captain shouts a few profanities while we attempt to pickup our mooring in a tailwind. We get an assist from Ohana for a successful mooring pickup then have a nice, brief hike on the island. We spot a Catalina Island Fox, Bald Eagle, and Bison! Winds are lighter for the return.
