Sailing Saoirse - Fitting our TEAK floors (EP 14)

In this video we take you through the process of fitting our teak floors on our Island Spirit 38’ catamaran. It took about 2 weeks over all to get it in. It was quite a long process of mistakes and learning, but at the end of the day it was put down and looks great. Teak would not be our number one choice of flooring due to the fact that it is such a high maintenance and easily damaged flooring but it was already part of the materials that came with the yacht. We think it looks beautiful but worry about long term wear on it. For now we have started taking off our shoes whereas before we stomped around the yacht in our shoes - not worried about damaging anything because it was on fiberglass. We take you to our storage unit and show you where we go for our morning runs. Our videos are about 2 - 3 weeks behind the current time and as everyone knows Covid-19 has hit South Africa with a bang. Lock down for South Africa starts tonight March 26th at midnight. Luckily for us staying at the Mykonos marina we are the only live aboards and the other yacht owners have been told to stay at their primary residences and will not be allowed on their yachts.
